Does a name make a difference?

If you had a good or bad experience with a person who had a certain name, would that effect your relationship with somebody new with the same name?

I see your point I can barely bring myself to say my wife's name. she passed away 7 years ago. I could not date or marry that name again.

    "Gary"
Every guy that I have met named "Gary" has had a very unique personality, which sucks because I think people with unique personalities shouldn't have such a lame name as "Gary".

    And "Joe"
I prefer to call them "Joey" or "Joseph". "Joe" is a fat construction worker that is 48, greasy, balding and single. He whistles at cute girls and drives a big old rusted GMC Sierra to his apartment in the middle of downtown Hellsburg where he plops onto the couch, cracks open his 18th beer of the day and watches "Ice Road Truckers" wishing he was one of those guys because they are the "true American heroes". Yeah, I've thought this through.

If I had bad experiences with everyone I met named Jessica, then I may be a little hesitant or have assumptions when meeting a new one, but I would always give them a chance.

I had a HUGE fallout with a woman named Karry and hearing her name makes me sick but I LOVE Kari byron from mythbusters. Mostly though, the name Karry just reminds me of a conniving bitch!

Honestly, names can be ruined for me. I doesn't mean I avoid ppl with names that remind me of other ppl, it just means in my head I'm thinking meeeeh I don't like ur name >.< and then I usually give them a nickname ;)

Of course not. Personality makes the person, not the name.

name is just a name why should that effect your personality.... make sure you guys dont loose a good and gifted person just because of his /her name..!! and what is in the name change it for you if you dont feel comfortable with it you can keep a nice nick name for the person..!!1

My only bad experience with my name is that when I was in school, no fucking teacher could pronounce it. It's not common, but not strange. It pissed me off because it was always a problem every new school year. It's like, you're a goddamn teacher, and you can't read my fucking name? How did you get your job teaching??

I've only known a few people who had the same name, but 99% of the time they used it as a nickname, not their real name....and they almost always spelled it differently. Yes, it's annoying. People always assume my name is a nickname too, so that's really annoying.

      So what is it?!

And I've had the same experience throughout my life as well...still, to this day, do I have to introduce myself as "Britton....like the country but spelled differently....". It's rather obnoxious but people hack my name up constantly....

Oh, OK, you convinced me....but I'll be pissed if people start calling me by name...and I'll blame you. It's Jeannie. No, not a nickname, and yes, that is how it's spelled. I was born in the 70's, so maybe I Dream of Jeannie had something to do with it.

            Happy? : )

Adriana is one of the worst names ever to have been created, IMO.

A friend of a friend of mine (Jill) in high school had a photo of herself holding her cousin's baby on her Bebo profile, and an Adrianna started taking the piss out of Jill's weight and claiming the baby was hers.

Her friend Lucy stood up to it, only it decided to bully Lucy because she has a "facial disfigurement". I tried to stand up for Lucy and what resulted was a slanging war that went on months, in which quite a few of its friends got involved too.

It was younger than everyone else it and its cronies decided to pick on (13/14 compared to my 19 [!??!]), but it still made me cry sometimes.

I eventually got it and its cronies off Bebo, though. I looked it up on Facebook a couple of times to see how it was doing, and it looked even uglier than I remembered it being.

My mum went to school with a bitch called Adrienne and there's the song by The Calling called that, too. In fact, I always feel a bit jumpy when I find out that a chracter from a TV show/the woman I'm being introduced to is called Adriana or Adrienne.

A lot of names can sound really hot, and if I hear a good name before even seeing the girl, I always get a good pre-first impression of them. Of course, it isn't exactly an important thing down the road.

I won't lie. There's only one person that, if someone else had the name, I wouldn't be able to be around them because it'd be too hard. I'd always be reminded of the past and that's not happening.

Well, I'm still trying to heal after my ex. So, probably. Depends on how good the person makes me feel and how different they are from my ex.

No. Names are names. With a name like mine, I learned not to judge a book by it's title early on in life.
