Depends on the person. I can think of plenty of people I would feel less bad about dying than one of my dogs.

Anyone that self entitled does deserve to live in society. That is like judging a persons crime on race, gender, or religion. I do not judge a life's value on something as stupid as this.

I value my life above everything else, so yes.

If I saw someone abusing an animal that couldn't defend itself, I would consider that person to have absolutely no worth at all and would gladly "take out the trash".
Lighting cats on fire and beating dogs in burlap bags with axe handles, for instance, are not the actions of a sane human being, but those of demented monsters.

Yes. I value a human life above every other life simply because i am a human.

Not at all. If posed with the choice of either killing a person or a beautiful animal like a tiger I would kill the human about 75% of the time. It would be dependant on the person of course but I hate most people so the % would probably be high.

Only just. To me, it depends on the other life more than the human. If it was an alien life form that would be able to tell us huge amounts of otherwise inaccessible information about life beyond our planet, then I would value that more than the life of a human. If it was a commonal garden mammalian, I'd value it less :P If it was a small shrub, even less.

I do value animal life very highly, though. I can't in all honesty say I value it higher than human life, but I do think it's very important.

Oh. Whoops. I misinterpreted the question and thought it meant "do you value 1 human above other humans".

I don't see the big deal with animals. I don't find them to be pure and "innocent". And yes, I value human life. Also, humans are animals too. And no animal is innocent, and pure, or hopeless. So I don't get that ridiculous motion set out by the hippie animal lovers.

I value life. The type of life it is does not matter so much. It's all about balance. Will I clear a forest to allow more humans a steak dinner? No. I value the trees more. Will I help a human in pain. To the best of my ability. Yes.

It's weird you know I grew up watching horror movies and have seen humans depicted as dying in countless ways. But in a movie whenever an animal is depicted as being hurt or killed it deeply disturbs me and I dislike it greatly. Perhaps I've been desensitized to the notion of human death? Definitely in the media and film I have.

    • It's the idea that animals are helpless, can't fight back, and are essentially pure they haven't done anything to deserve death. While humans are bad and the playing field is equal both mentally and physically. Am I making any sense?
