Do you touch public door knobs?

is it normal that I carry a paper towel in my right coat pocket, primarily to open door knobs. In the warm weather, I carry a paper towel folded-up in my back pocket. I never leave home without a paper towel on my person. If I forget one, or loose it, I put a key between my finger and the pull handle on a public door.

I no longer care if I am seen doing this.

Have you ever seen a sanitation worker cleaning a door knob?

Imagine viewing a door knob-any door knob-under a microscope.

A key? I don't get how that is more sanitary.

Ha i think it's justifiable. I do touch them though but my hands are so dry and cracked from washing them after every public place I go to. The thing I refuse to touch is handrails. Like stair railings. Grosssss.

I don't like touching public doors either. I don't carry around anything but I just might start. I know I sure as hell do not touch the bathroom door handle. You have no idea where peoples hands have been. Could have been scratching their assholes right before touching the handle to any door.

Just use hand sanitizer. They have little bottles you can carry around everywhere you go.

I hope you keep that phobia in check. Germs are a necessary evil, you better get use to them or they may just kill you. Just be sure to wash your hands before you go touching your eyes or mouth.

I use my sleeve, and if I'm not wearing a coat, I wait for someone else to open the door or try to with my foot lol I'm a big germaphobe.

I only worry about it at work. The microbiologists are constantly forgetting to take their gloves off before they leave the lab so they touch door handles, etc., with whatever they'd been working with last (and something that required them to have gloves in the first place).

  • None but the bathroom door knobs make me cringe.

But frankly it sounds like you're germaphobic which isn't healthy. Embrace the germs. Breathe the bacteria. Let it floooow through you.
