Do you think women aged 40 and over should have kids?

Concerning health and the statistics of healthy/disabled babies being born to women in the 40+ group.

I don't. Most women cannot have a child naturally after 40, so I'm gonna have to side with nature on this one. For those who can, it was meant to be. I strongly disagree with forcing a pregnancy after that age.

I agree, first thing that comes to mind with older people having kids, is autism. High risk for their kid that is

That is your choice. If you love life, then I see no problems. It does not matter what others think. I would suggest you decide if you want to raise a young child until you are 65, knowing the difference between the first 20 and last 20 years of your life.

My Mom was 43 when she had her last kid and the baby turned out fine. Personally, while the risks are a little bit higher, I think that one of the upsides to having children later is that the woman is probably more stable and better educated then a lot of your younger women having kids.

The downside is the factor of energy. I want to say not all women over 40 have the energy anymore to care for a young child in the way that they deserve, but a lot of younger women (thanks to yee olde obesity epidemic) don't really have the energy either. That's not really an argument I can legitimately use against it at this point.

There are other downsides that come with the age of the mother, but overall I believe that if a woman is physically able and financially able to provide a stable life for the child and she wants to have a child, she should do it.

If you're 40, I suppose it's fine. If you're entering your 50's, then show some respect for your children. You'll most likely pass away when they enter college, and I doubt a child would want their mother/father being pushed in a wheelchair at their graduation.

Wonder what extremist feminist thumbed this down.
+1 because I don't think women should just have a kid without the dude's consent.

    • lol, because god forbid a "child" in their mid 20s has to take care of themselves
