Smallpox is estimated to have killed hundreds of millions of people up until the vaccine and it's now eradicated.
A lot of vaccines have been proven to work on certain diseases like small pox and MMR . But flu shots are not in that category. A small percentage of people react badly to vaccines for whatever reason . Not saying you shouldn't get normal childhood vaccines but I'd be careful about flu shots and that HPV one.
It's not so much "thinking" as it is noticing statistical data and constant results over many many years and countless cases.
There is always more to learn and discover, but so far the facts are in place for us.
Use your head. It doesn't take a first hand account of 100% of data available to form an educated opinion on something. Not all people who have jumped off buildings died on impact, I still think you might come to the conclusion, WITHOUT 100% of all data everywhere about leaping off of buildings, that it's a pretty bad idea.
Basic, day-to-day, completely normal usage of the human brain allows us to process information this way. It's part of why our species is a pretty successful living organism. We collect what data we can, and use it in our decision making. I see the introduction of the use of vaccines, look at some research here and there, experience first-hand that I've never had typhoid fever, measles, mumps, scarlet fever, etc. etc. I come to an educated conclusion that vaccines have a degree of effectiveness.
I can't say it's 100%, but I've got enough information to say that they do work. Perhaps not all do. Perhaps some have negative side effects. None of that changes the success rate that's already in place, though.
If you want to make a point with your poll or provide some facts supporting a different argument (whatever it may be) please feel free. Just use that thing above your neck.
Oh you have no idea who you're talking to. I just thought it was funny on your first comment. No need to get defensive and come to an "educated" conclusion that I don't use my head. Well done. I already revealed my stance on the issue above. Thank you for commenting.
Interesting that you immediately jump to the idea that I'm implying you don't use your head by suggesting that you do so. Who's defensive here? And I don't give a single fuck about "who I'm talking to". I had this entire warehouse of fucks, but see, it's completely empty. Not a single one left to give you. None. I even made a pedestal, on which I would place a fuck if I had one to give you, but it stands empty. Would you like it?
You didn't state your stance in the original poll, and I commented before that reply was up.
Seeing as quite a few diseases don't even exist anymore, yeah I'd say they do. Or at least some of them do.
They obviously don't work for all serotypes of an infection or sometimes if a person is immuno deficient they don't work but for the most part vaccines are the shit.
GASP. I literally just got a flu vaccine a few minutes ago. Why would I let someone stick a needle in me if it didn't work? From experience, they do in fact work!
