Do you think this is disrespecful?

There was one famous governor who died recently and he is currently lying in state before a state funeral. I never knew about him until his death but I want to take a look at the area since I have never seen someone lying in state before. In other words, I want to take a look out of curiosity (though I'll maintain my decorum). However, I know many people will be visiting to pay their respects. Would you consider it disrespectful to visit the former governor for the sake of curiosity?

You can go. Just don't publicise that you're there just to see the corpse.

  • Well I decided to visit the coffin.

  • If it were my corpse you were gazing at, I wouldn't mind.

The dead know nothing. Whatever you do, you do for your own sensibilities.

Well you not going to beep out music, sing "oh happy days" and jump for joy are you? Why not? Go but just use commonsense OP :)

It's actually really inspiring to hear you're interested in him. I guess it depends on why you are though.

    • It's not really interest. It's just curiosity of looking at a historical event.
