My adult side tells me it's complete nonsense, but the kid in me tell me to look at mine everyday before I go out. The kid always wins. And I do the compatibility thing with me and my crushes birthdays.

Me, too. Although I don't really believe in it, it's still fun to read them and see if the predictions come true (admittedly, most of the time they don't). But to me it is just a game, so I am not disappointed if the predictions never happen.

if you believe in astrology you participate in the mass cultural dellusion that the sun's apparent position relative to arbitrarily defined constellations at the time of your birth somehow affects your personality.

NO but that's not to say that seasonal/meteorological/astronomical events necessarily couldn't have any impact on the way we are and the way we act.

But they're still a cute concept.

Sorry, but I think it's a pseudoscience. Or maybe I'd have to say that because I'm a sceptical Virgo?

oh and the predictions made in these horoscopes can apply to mostly anyone, they are usually very general common things.

This is because horoscopes only represent a fraction of what astrology has to offer. No one said you had to agree or believe in astrology. But you may want to learn what it actually is before you comment on its validity.

I have studied it for some time and I found that it does not allign with what I encounter in my personal life or the physical world for that matter. I also found that the scientific community agrees with my standpoint.

You say that as if the scientific community is out there mapping transits for you personally. And normally, I would love to argue but the new moon in cancer has affected me today. So I'm content with leaving it be for now ;)

It doesn't predict my life but it explains my behavior accurately enough.

I don't put a lot of faith in horoscopes, but astrology predicts me accurately enough that I'd be an idiot to not at least be open-minded.

I don't think it's for real at all, as things like constellations are really just faraway stars. Their gravity isn't effecting us, and their light is nothing compared to what we get from the sun. So I don't think the apparent angle of these groups of stars has anything to do with my personality. If the months and seasons effect my personality, it likely has more to do with the effects of the seasons themselves rather then what constellation was in the sky at my time of birth.

So someone makes a bunch of general traits that go with the months, and people see that most of them apply to themselves and all of a sudden it's true?? Sounds a lot like a fortune teller to me, I guess you believe in those as well though.

Where is "It's not foolproof but there's enough truth to it for enough people I know IRL that there has to be *something* to it".

I've seriously thought about getting my astrology done properly a few times but never got round to it.

I don't know that I believe in Astrology, but I do find it interesting and fun to think about.

I think it has some truth to it. My sign describes me totally in every aspect.

I bet if you looked at other signs, they could describe you totally as well. And I bet there's a couple things about your sign that don't describe you at all. I can agree with a lot of the things it says about my sign, but it also contains stuff that couldn't be any more the opposite of me.

but there are many ppl born under that sign who are completely different from what the sign says they are.
