Do you think the world would be better if everyone was like you?

Yesterday, I was on the bus from the way home from work and there was this big-headed guy having a go at this homosexual guy. It was really irritating how the guy was saying how the gay guy would go to hell and he was a disgrace and everything. Eventually, he got kicked off the bus but it got me thinking: what if everyone was like me? I don't fight and I'm happy and bubbly and I'm nice to everyone and all that. So, what would it be like?
And what do you guys think? Would you like it better if everyone was like you? or would you hate having to talk to an arrogant idiot (if you are) person. Comment please!

Yes! I think it would be great if everyone was like me! (comment) 41
What? NO! I could never live with myself! (comment) 42

It'd be awful if everyone was like me. There would be no such thing as fashion, no one would ever go to parties, and all the shops would be empty because everyone would do all their shopping online. Plus everyone would have really low self-esteem and bad hygiene.

Yeah, but none of those things would matter because nobody would bully each other about it. :)

  • No. I believe my opinions are correct, and it's not that I don't think we would make the physical world a better place, but the personal flaws I have wouldmake it a very bad place, very bad.

Hmm there would be no religion.
There would be no mercy for murderers/child rapists (aka execution).
There would be no violence in the world, wars or religious conflicts.
Everyone would be socially awkward. xD
Everyone would be gaming instead of going to parties ;p

    Hiya,

They are in some ways. My disability (cp) makes people with it look and act quite similar, for example we're naïve, we can get cross/upset easily and we're quite short due to our muscles being all wrong. I actually saw a picture of a young man that looked like me once.

I'd never run out of people to go to concerts with either. Mind you there'd be no point going because the bands would all be me too and not be able to play.

if everyone was like me one of "mes" would eventually start a genocide. I love myself and feel perfectly happy about everything, but even 2 of us would be way too much for this universe.

If you're going by traits I wouldn't cause noone would talk to each other, and hopefully skills are separate i mean cause if it is just a whole bunch of you running around and they only have your traits and skills the world might not go so so well unless you're just crazy awesome and skilled in everything but i doubt theres anyone like that, but anyway being serious people are diverse and in their traits and thats why we enjoy the world if everyone was the same it wouldn't matter who you were with.

    Hiya,

This would make a great story.

I find it easier to get on with people who I have at least one thing in common with.

Everyone would be physically disabled, and none of us could help each other do anything. We'd all love myths & legends. We'd all start crying when we heard 'Fireflies'. There'd be no one to dye my hair or anything else, because none of us could do any of that.

It'd be like an episode of Dr. Who. Let's hope John Simm's in it!

I dont want to be like any of you. Not to mention the world cant handle more then one me. When got made me he only had enough ingredients for one =D

  • It's an interesting question. I would much rather be different. But I can also see how it would be nice to understand everybody. I can procrastinate though. So things that really matter, probably would take forever to finish. The things that don't matter however, would be excellently executed.

No, but not because I'm a bad person. I just wouldn't want to be in a world full of clones. Plus, there are other people out there who have different skill sets and interesting opinions that make the world fun.

Actually, think of it this way. Would you want only one author in the world? Sure that person could be very creative and come up with a whole bunch of different and unique stories, but eventually they will all start to blend together until the well of creativity runs dry.

The world would be awesome if everyone was like me.
But that could become problematic in many ways, and it could never really work out if everyone was the same.

I think it's better to say, "I wish more people were like me."
The world would be a better place if only the horrible people were replaced with my clones.

personally i would be slightly disgusted if everyone conformed to my personality, without gloating or self-glorifying i have to say that i am thoughtful, although not very ethical, i believe that in order for modern society to exist and prosper, there have to be differences and preferences among people, although it might be good in the fact that there would always be someone decently intellectual to talk to

In some aspects, yes, because I'm not gonna lie - I think high of myself when it comes to some things, like my compassion and empathy and genuine loves for others. On the other hand, I would be driven batshit crazy living with 7 billion of me. Sometimes I get on my OWN damned nerves - we'd kill each other. xD

everyone would just accept each other for who they are, and have a blast every other day, with smoke and weed smell everywhere. and just generally crazy shit that doesn't make sense lying around in the street.

  • It would be a great place if everyone was like me. The world needs more trolls we help to keep everything in balance, why without us people wouldnt get upset at all, and wholesome reasonable advice would abound on the Internet.

    Nobody wants that.

Like how others were saying it would be rather boring. There wouldn't be any differences in the people at all... why would you want that?

I find people facinating... everybody is strange in their own way. I love hearing other peoples opinions and thoughts on topics also.

I can be pretty stubborn and impatient at times, so most likely everybody would be getting mad at each other a lot. lol. Although I don't always put myself above others so the arguements wouldn't last too long and they would most likely be fine and calm then.

Everybody would be in their own little world too because I daze a lot due to my hearing disorder, although at the same time the world would most likely be quieter. So much noise makes me lose focus since I can't block sound.

Everybody would be running into things and klutzs too. It sure would be a crazy world because I'm rather ridiculous. :)

I think you'd like to ''import'' your best qualities onto everyone, but in all reality, would you really want to have everyone just like yourself?

For each person's great qualities, we have our inadequacies as well, and bad traits.

What makes us all different, makes us who we are. And I'd rather have that then have everyone with the same personality, taste and style.

I am not a good person.

So ya, the world would be a whole lot of _FUN_ and, for a while, a great place, but then it would go downhill. big time.

so na, it would definitely not be "better" in the general way of things. only more fun.

  • PumpkinKate

It depends on just how "like me" everyone was.

If it was loose, reaaaaaaaal loose, and specifically targeted certain traits like "doesn't hate gays" or "isn't against a certain race" then...

maybe. Just maybe. It's hard to say, because a big part of me believes that the world needs balance. It's nigh impossible to imagine what consequences would come from everyone suddenly no longer being bigoted. And that's just one of my GOOD qualities. (and may not even be 100% true, I just like to *think* it is, I don't know with 100% certainty)

If they were exactly like me? All the mystery and wonder of life would disappear. I would be- WE ALL would be so depressed, because one of my favorite things to do in the whole world is discover how different people are from me! Hah, we would be really, really... weird.

It's hard to say,if everyone likes me,on one hand, they will be less confident, less beautiful.but,on another hand, they will be warm-heart and responsibility.

The alternatives are no good: I could probably easily live with myself, but it would be a disaster if all people were like me!

There needs to be good and bad in everything and if the rest of this world was like me, we would have world leaders who don't say enough is enough! Evolution is based on everyone being different. Some people are lazy so that others can pick up their slack. Some people are c*nts to do what a kind person cant do. The above situation comes down to respect. That guy has nothing to do with the other, who is he to say what he should or shouldn't do!? Everyone has their own beliefs but I strongly believe it just falls down to either, the guy has no respect or he simply has no life. The End :)

If everyone was like me then this world would be stagnate. There would be no change, no evolution, no progression.

However, out of the batch of mes there would have to be a couple who are geniuses. I believe that we are all the same aside from the way we think and given everyone thinking like me, there would have to be one who dares to be different. I analyze myself a lot and I've realized that I live for contrast. I'm an iconoclast who questions the values we have and what we have become as a society. Back to my earlier creed, we are all the same, except for how we think. When the world goes left, there are bound to be a couple of mes who chose to go right. Individuality would be my society's only hope for progression.
