Do you think the un has ulterior motives?

Do you think the United Nations has ulterior motives when it comes to the concern of the worlds problems?
Do they have a hidden agenda other than helping the human race survive in peace?
Other than making sure the people of their own country are safe?

Give me your thoughts and opinions on the UN and their suspicious ways!

Conspiracy theorists.. ho!

They are part of the zionist world order, supporters of the illuminati. We need to support the Japanese triads that are in a secret war against the illuminati, we need to gather all the people and go to war against the zionist world contror that is collaborating with the templars and illuminati.

It has 193 member states, 193 states can only have so much in common.

I don't think it's a conspiracy theory to suggest that humans usually act in self-interest. I think it would be a conspiracy theory - and a ridiculous one - to suggest that every UN worker is a puppet put in place by a top secret organisation seeking world domination.

You must be American. Americans sometimes distrust the UN. There's a whole subculture that identifies with what you are saying. Ron Paul's followers all do. And they're also suspicious of the EU, even though the EU has only done what the USA did 236 years ago. Elsewhere in the world, you never hear of it. Remember, less than 5% of the world's population lives in the USA; the USA comprises only 25% of the population of the Western world. What Americans think is not necessarily normal. The best thing for you would be to read up on the history of the UN and do some research into what the various arms of the UN accomplish. They do some amazing things. No liberal democracy has ever made war against another liberal democracy and some of the greatest minds say that we have the UN to thank for that.

I'm not American and I think they have alterior motives. If you think the rest of the world is blindly trusting them you're wrong. This website isn't used only by citizens of the US..

Why wouldn't you trust an organisation which was set up after WWII to prevent further wars and promote peace? Is there any evidence they have any hidden agenda? What do you think their ulterior motives are, and how are they achieving their hidden aims? Would you under any circumstances trust a global organisation with aims of world peace and progress?

Because you never truly know someone's true motives and... ahh.. fuck it! It's obvious... I've got trust issues, k?

Ha! You don't need to blindly trust them, just don't blindly distrust them either, if you know what I mean.

I agree with what you say about the UN, though distrust is not limited to the US. Probably the same people who are inclined to believe in the conspiracy theories. Personally I think globalisation/international integration is a great thing, both for peace and social progress, but so many are scared of it.

... apart from that time the UN appeased America's illegal embargo on Cuban exports, and all those times when the UN appeased Israel's massacres of hundreds of Palestinians with US support, and that time when the UN appeased the US continuation of the death penalty, and that time when the UN appeased the US for ignoring the UN on the environment. The UN is absolutely NOT anti-American.

It was originally called the League of Nations. I guess that's where they got the idea for the superheroes' "Hall of Justice".

But wasn't it started by Woodrow Wilson? It certainly was his idea. From memory, I think that he designed the whole thing but congress or the senate outvoted him so he couldn't participate.

As if the politicians give two shits about us. They only want to feed those greedy pockets. 9-10 do not care about the place they rule or govern. Most of them come from rich families. Just have to cheer for the one who does the least amount of damage.

Well...yeah we shouldn't put all of our trust in the UN. But without it we would probably be living in more chaos than we already do. So let them have their secrets...as long as they keep us in the partial amount of peace that is already here I won't look that far into what the UN REALLY does.

Nobody said that. Not trusting someone complete is watching out for your own good. Nobody's accusing anyone, we're just being cautious. Blindly trusting that someone's intentions are good is what's ridiculous and people need to realize that.
