Do you think the opposite sex tell lies often?

Hey, I am a female in my early twenties. Not that I know a lot about men, but they do give me an impression that they lie in 50% of the time or they are trying to hide something that I don't think I will actually mind.

What do you think? Please leave comments.

    I think both sexes probably lie often at about the same amount. People are insecure and it's hard to be honest sometimes.

    Men lie thinking they'll get away with it. Women lie knowing they will.

    Excessive lying is a character flaw not a gender flaw. I think how people lie, why people like, how often they lie is determined on personality. Now often if you are like me I sometimes will go out of my way to not lie. By either avoiding the question, changing the subject or only giving out information which I want people to know. Which people mistake for lying becuase they feel they have a right to know everything another person thinks 24/7 and dont realize some people just dont share.

    I'm a male, my fiancee shagged two other guys (one she told me about) other I knew about but said nothing until she told me when I basically forced her to do so, she left me for the second guy and broke my heart, she founded our relationship on lies and betrayal pretty much, however I'm no angel either, I lied about where I was occasionally because I needed space at times, both sexes lie equally, most people in this topic are fucking idiots, period.

    People always assume the opposite sex lies more, cheats more, is more complicated, is more manipulative etc. Men often get a bad reputation, which I'd say is largely the consequence of media, history and rumour rather than accuracy.

    Frankly, I think honesty isn't about male or female. There are saints and rats with vaginas and dicks.

    What this poll does is expose people's insecurities about the other side.

      I thought men had the reputation of being horny pigs that sleep around not that they were liars. I think if any gender was categorized as liars it would be women. Especially since womens reputation is being evil, vindictive and manipulative. So I don't see how men are getting the reputation for lying. Not that I agree with these stereotypes.

    Maybe, but it depends on the person. You won't know unless you ask. And even then you might not find anything out.

    I know people lie to me and use the excuse "I don't want to hurt your feelings". I rather hear the truth even if it will offend me, yet no one really is honest with you these days

    You know a man's lying coz his lips are moving!

    Men actually tell you what they THINK you want to hear! However, they haven't a clue what we want to hear. We're old enough now for the truth so tell it like it is or go away!

    I don't like mind games or people presuming they know what's good for me.
