Humans will never go extinct that's not ever going to happen on this planet. But that's not to say I'd be impossible for a billion people to die in a day for (x) reason. In all likelihood humans will suck the resources dry from this planet and move to another leaving Earth a baron waste land. Humans will NEVER go extinct ON THIS PLANET. Period.

Why would you say that? We are nothing more than a pestilence on this planet and it would be a much nicer place if mankind were eradicated. As a species we aren't even smart enough to preserve the only habitat we have to exist in.
Either we are selling this planet's future out to make money, or we are allowing it because we are so uncaring that future generations will have to live in the mess we are leaving behind.

Agreed. However, your post doesn't address the "will" question. I don't think so and I'm telling you why. Will humans go extinct? And remember humans have massive bomb/nuclear/radiation bases underground, lead shielded. Solar power. Oxygen conversion. The list goes on and on and on. The only question is if a catastrophe/cataclysm were to occur would those few living underground for (x) amount of years remain sane enough not to eradicate each other causing the human species to extinguish itself. That's MY point, not some romantic nonsense you concocted and wrote 25 lines of Tripe about. j/k *wink-wink*

Humans could easily go extinct. You demonstrate a lack of understanding of so many things with such a ridiculous assertion. Humans have been a thing for less than a million years. Look at how long various species of dinosaur lasted and now they are gone. Dinosaurs lasted thousands of times as long as humans have been a thing.

Now termites (and our lesser cousins the cockroach), are a different story, we will never go extinct.

That's a good observation... TheCockRoach.... Can a CockRoach exist in outer-space??? I think not but a Human CAN and DOES. Same thing, you can nuke a Roach AND a Human in the microwave, both won't die. One has barely changed over say 100 million years (if it ainght broke don't fix it) and the Human creates a space/radiation suit and lives. Good point.

Humans can survive in space because of technology

Yes I know. The argument above was a comparison.

            1) Human + Technology.v.s. 2) Bugs as they evolved

I think it's a given bugs can live in the same environment in space so long as we feed them.

Humans and cockroaches (and let's not forget termites) can and do indeed live in space under the same conditions. If you're under the delusion that humans would last longer in the vacuum of space them they putting any (ahem...) "bug" underwater and see how it does. I'll wait while you perform the experiment.

(don't read until finished with above experiment)

Now, if you're so inclined (you cruel fuck), cut the head off a cockroach and watch as it continues to live and live and live. I'll wait while you perform the experiment.

(I'll be back to this thread in a few months, I hope YOU don't hold your breath that long)

I have coincidentally cut CockRoaches heads and asses off, they only need one or the other side to live for up to a week. If both sides are severed it dies.

Now, TheCockRoach although related to the waterbug will drown very quickly if you've ever thrown one in the toilet alive.

All I'm saying is humans have advanced to a point where we can survive temporarily at the rim of a live volcano and not die from the heat due to technology, hence a fire-suit. Bring a jar full of Termites/roaches up there and they'd be dead before you could give the volcano a rimjob.

My point is humans are far to technologically advanced at this point for every human to parish on this Earth. Due to technology humans have become 100% self sufficient and capable of living underground indefinitely forever or until the sun burns out. Humans are trashing this planet but that doesn't mean mankind will go extinct.

I guess you missed the part where the "bugs" don't need the technology. That's ok, we'll dine on what's left of your corpse and plant our children in your flesh when you're gone.

Yes humans will become extinct on this planet. The sun is set to explode and destroy the earth in flames in about 5 billion years.

    "LIFE MUST FILL ALL VOIDS."

We can easily make the Milky Way galaxy a garden of life over the next 50 million years. If we get going on this, an extinction or two (including our own) won't matter.
