Society has us chasing clothes and cars; working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need.

With fancy new shit, yes. It doesn't help that nothing is made to last anymore. It pisses me off somethin fierce! I will rescue a rusty piece of junk and appreciate it for what it was and still is. It may be a hunk o junk but I bet it still works or at least has an alternate use. And fuckin cell phones, ugh, as soon as you buy one theres like a hundred newer better faster ones. Fuck it! Give me some old soup cans and a piece of string then we'll talk.

Most definitely. But hey that's capitalism.

Yeah, people are. They typically invest more time and affection in their accumulated things than they do in family and friends. I worried that I was getting like that so when I moved 5 years ago I left everything I owned behind except my music collection. A lifetime of possessions and 'memories' abandoned. While I wouldn't neccessarily advise anyone to do the same, it's not something I lose any sleep over.

It depends on the people; some are and some aren't. Then some are in between. :)

I would describe myself closer to non-materialistic to in the middle. I admit I have things that I value but then I value my family and friends a lot.

    Yes, definitely...
    I'm a materialistic male bitch.
But what else do we have to do?
And actually in the world we're living in now, who isn't?

Can you blame people? They're sheeps and producers are the shepherds. But, look at all the amazing conveniences we have in this day in age, tech. has really simplified our lives. I think that if people see a way to make their lives easier then they'll take it, it's only natural that you'd form some sort of attachment to whatever product you have. It's kind of sad, purely cause these products sort of separate us, but it's understandable to love the things that make our lives easier.
