I really hope so. And I think that it can happen. If we can get good people on high places, it might be possible. But very difficult. I believe that it is possible, but it probably will never happen. It is too difficult for 7 billion and growing to live without conflict, no matter how pointless.

This will surprise people, but I think we already largely do. It's never going to be possible for 6.98 billion people (the big seven billion is coming very soon, folks) to live entirely without conflict, but compared to conflict in the last century, we've only had squabbles in this one.

As much as I wish it were true (even if there isn't really a point in wishful thinking), it will never happen. We are all either indifferent, opposed or favoring something that another country, state or even person will not follow. That is why we cannot have peace.

Man has had wars and fought over pointless things since it first existed and why would we think this is ever going to change.

yep, socialism is spreading. us will be more and more socialist if the occupy movements do anything at all. if the us does, then many others will follow suit once their economies can handle it. its global synergy.

No. It is human nature to dispute over anything. There will always be someone on the opposing side. There will never be perfect coexistence because everything is in a state of decay. In the case of a hypothetical unified world government, there will be those against it. An example of the world in decay, take a a car you buy, it rusts over time,decays, it's never going to get better. Humanity both does the most heinous crimes and exceptional acts.

Without war, sickness, childbirth limitations and crime, the earth would have overpopulated and we would all die. Simply put, the higher the population=more violence.

Unfortunately no. No matter how old we get we'll never, as a whole, be grown up enough to share and play nice. Someone will always want more toys; more space in their little sandbox; more cookies; and some will just take things or hurt people because they feel like it. Power is like a drug.

humans will never coexist peacefully with other humans because human brain capacity makes you think about things too much, and have an opinion of your own, AND a tendancy to not like the opinions of others.also, war and politics.

Humans crave power and that leads to war wars will always outbreak unless we are fighting something else for power.

Humas are ALL different, the only thing that secures us from beating the shit of others is our thoughs, personnality, sensivity. We would just kill each others. ALL humans have that, what makes war is the crush between a nacion with a president that has a + personnality and another nacion with a president with a - personnality. They engage for what is more important for them, Hitler killed so many people because of his beliefs, not religion, just what he believed in. War will always exist when Humans are All different, to end it,we had to force people to do the same things.

While it seems like a great idea and will probably make life easier, it's practically impossible we are not like animals eat,sleep,reproduce but of course we are way to greedy to stay comfortable with something simple. Long story short there's no way for that to happen

No. There's too much greed - whether for land or wealth.

Violence is too human. Even though peace is large now, it's in the humans nature (in my opinion especially the government). as long as some have resources, others will try to get it and for that, peace will never be pure.

Just because we can peacefully coexist with some, does not mean everybody likes the methods of those people. Some will join the peace, and some will try to take it away. Thankfully there will always be people searching for ways to prevent and resolve conflict.

I agree with dappled, we already live in a world like that. We as humans have developed minds that make us think differently from other animals and we all have different opinions on subjects and some will argue that their opinion is right but that doesn't mean we aren't peaceful. You can't expect the entire human race not to have some chaos now and then, except for things like war because I feel that if our leaders actualy thought more we could avoid such things as war.

War is older than written language. I think it's in our DNA to have disputes.
