I can think better at night. But that may also have to do with the fact that nobody's bothering me.
I feel at home at night and i sleep 'till like 1:30pm everyday, reguardless what time i go to sleep.
I think some people live as though they are nocturnal, but that actually they would be healthier living diurnally.
I sometimes (often) lapse into a nocturnal pattern, and, whilst the night has some advantages, I miss the sunlight. I miss being up and around when everybody else is. I miss shops being open and the sense that you have a whole day ahead. I hate trying to sleep when it's sunny out.
But I have a serious problem maintaining a normal sleeping pattern. You're supposed to be awake for 16 hours, then asleep for 8, give or take 1 or 2 hours depending on preference. But my natural inclination is to be awake for 20 hours, then asleep for 9 or 10. It means every day pushes my sleep cycle slightly more in one direction until it's entirely opposite to what it 'should' be. I hate it.
Yes, some humans also do not have a 24 hour circadian rhythm. I am like this to where my sleep schedule is chaotic and inconsistent. When I try to conform to other peoples standards of sleep schedules I am miserable and it effects my functioning.
