Do you think nowadays teens are just bluffing around?

Instead of being in a serious relationship nowadays i see people just bluffing around i mean just a false display of themselves and assumption of others. But when they are together then they wake up from their dream and realize it was not what they thought it was. For ex. a girl when attracted to a boy she assumes his character and personality to be of an actor from some movie and vice versa. Just a thought what do you think?

I honestly have no idea. I don't really see or hang out with teenagers so I can't say.

I am for sure with you on that.
Though, I understand what this person is saying, and I can for sure see that being the case.

    Nowadays?

    What?

I didn't really understand your point.

I think nowadays we probably have more realistic expectations of relationships than, say, 50 years ago.

I know what you mean. This is what I see:

Guys: Most of the Teenage boys like to brag that they have sex all the time when in reality they don't.

Girls: Most Teenage girls like to brag about their boyfriends as if they were some Prince.

In Reality: When the relationship is over they start seeing the bad things about relationships.

    • Are you a teen? if yes then but obvious you won't if not i'll explain it in a different manner. Just as kids believe what they see in television or believe when they hear stories that the characters exist.

For ex: the princess from the fairy tale who found his prince who brought her sandal back. Same as that teens believe the guy or the girl they are dating expecting them to be Leonardo DiCaprio aka Jack Dawson and Kate Winslet aka Rose DeWitt Bukater from Titanic and also pretend to be them until the truth reveals after sometime of them being together and when they face reality which they see after walking a few steps of life which is taking a right from their school or college. They are just bluffing with each other assuming they are the one but it comes out to be infatuation.

Hope am a bit clear now to you guys who did not understand it at first.

        Ah I see. Yeah well I'm 17.

I agree it's dumb the sort of expectations young people have about love/relationships. People need to get real. :P

        • Glad you understood a bit as am very bad in explaining. And well i don't think its their mistake if they don't understand and realize early but the environment they live in as many think the social pressure.

It's not just now-a-days, it was like that when I was a kid too. It's all the movies and breaking up of the family unit and secularism and professionalism and lack of philosophy and the separation from religion and the clinical view of everything.

I'm a teenager myself but I have no idea. At times, I'm baffled.

Yeah, but I don't think it has to do with people bluffing. When you're falling in love with someone, you'll automatically associate that person with all kinds of positive qualities.

It's better to get into relationships when your older like in your 20's When I was younger I always wanted a girlfriend but games would have always been played. Atleast when your older you'll meet more women or guys (if your a girl) that want to settle down and actually want to know you and such.

it's a characteristic of youth... seeing things as more glamourous as what they really are. then when reality hits it's quite a shock
