Do you think new music music sounds 70's?

New music is starting to sound very 70's. Play one of Foster the People's songs and then listen to Video Killed the Radio star. New alternative music is sounding a lot like the bubble gum pop from the 70's.

    You may have a point about the Foster the People/Video Killed the Radio Star comparison.

    On a related note, I like the song Helena Beat by Foster the People.

    for a long time music has moved forward with an eye on the past, new wave, post punk revival, a lot of indie rock has roots in the 60's like tame impala, almost like a lot of recent indie rock bands were elephant 6 collective fans

    If you mean from 2000 no. The 2000 is computerized but does not sound like 70s. I like 80s music the best.

    Seems like music is reverting more to the 80s then the 70s, but I agree with what you mean. People are running out of ideas for innovation, and they're scared to go into the truly avant-garde.
