Do you think it's gross for women to use pads?

I personally don't care what a woman uses on her period, rather it be a tampon or a pad, but it seems that many people think using pads are "digusting" or something.

What do you think?

I think another woman's sanitary regimen when Aunt Flo is in town is none of my business and people who are overly concerned with this have too much time on their hands. As long as it's not leaky or stinky I don't care what someone else does.

I can understand why people would find pads or liners disgusting because we seem to becoming more and more divorced from the functions of our own bodies, even judging the natural functions of our bodies disgusting.

Personally I find this rejection of our very nature quite disturbing and I'm scared of where it may lead. I had hoped that as time went on we would become more natural, more in tune with ourselves, more in turn with the world in general. Quite the opposite seems to be happening.

  • There are so many things about the human body that are not pleasing. I don't like how everyone is supposed to just "love" or "like" these things just because it is our biology, our nature.

Yes, it may be natural, it may be something we can't control, that doesn't mean we have to find it appealing.

Personally, I am apathetic towards this. It's not pleasing, but I don't care enough to find it unappealing.

For me, the thing I hate most? When someone is clearing their nose. That's natural, but I just cringe when I hear or see it happening.
Should I be ashamed for not liking it because it is natural? No.

Menstrual flow shouldn't smell offensive until it's had time to oxidise. So therefore, as long as pads are changed regularly enough, then I don't see what's offensive about them. Personally, I'd rather have something catch the flow than shove something up there for five days of every month. Something about that doesn't sit well with me. It really doesn't seem natural! There are always moon cups as well - more environmentally friendly than pads (oh dear... now we're meant to feel guilty about the impact our periods are having on the planet?!) Could just go old school and use a rag and do nothing for five days, then wash it for reuse, obviously. Doing nothing for five days isn't exactly realistic for most women these days, though. Environmentally sounds, but you'd have the oxidisation issue by the second day. Can you tell I've given this some thought....

I personally think pads are gross because I hate the feeling of having your period blood all smushed against your vagina.
Also, with tampons, you can get head when you're on your period without having to worry about the guy being okay with menstrual blood all over his face.

      • Golly. Are you tight and strong enough to push a tampon out when you cum?

Haha, I just thumbed up your comment on another post. Are you following me? Kidding.
But I mean, yeah I guess. When girls genuinely orgasm, we have uterine contractions. Milder than those that take place during labor, but I'm sure it's the same concept. If I had a tampon in while I busted one, I think it would just slip out. But I still haven't tried it so I wouldn't know.

          • Oh, I know. Those grip grip twitches that can be little pinches or can make a girl's whole body buck.

I'm following closely behind, BurnaBaby. You smell so nice.

I no longer have periods, but when I did, I found them disgusting & gross. I used tampons as soon as I learned how to instert them. I think that it`s high time that scientists found a safe way to do away with periods, I mean, it`s the 21st century for god`s sake, why must women still have to tolerate them.

So you are saying women should use tablets and not I-pads on their periods?
    Why?

As a man I find pads more interesting to sniff after use, women become obsessed with vaginal smells etc when if they were to ask us men what we like its smells, sticky pantys, blood, pee, anything that a woman emits from her body will ultimately turn us men on, including shit. So women believe other women can smell the vag when its on a period ??? don't think so pheromones are the best things for us men.

what do girls do during the night when they are on their period? cause you're not supposed to sleep with tampons in so then what?

I just realized I never answered this. Pads are very uncomfortable, but since my periods are a lot lighter now that I've been on birth control for over two years, I can wear them around the house for the first three days and nights and then use a light tampon + a liner when I'm out. Liners for the remainder when I'm home.

I'd rather use a pad instead of dying from toxic shock syndrome. Don't bash the pad.

I do not find pads to b gross unless u have a really heavy flow. I think it's a better idea to try tampons out if that is ur case. I use both. Although my period only lasts 2-3 days with only one moderately heavy day. So in that case, liners are my buddies:D

    I use toiletpaper!
(Pads make it itch and tampons dries me out)

This is of course unless my BF is around and i'd prefer to be at least a little bit proper.
