I signed up for a dating site last night sorta out of boredom and got a lot of messages from guys in their late 20's or 30's. That shit is kinda freaky to me, but I was wondering what other people thought

Not necessarily creepy, kind of annoying / gross, because what could you possibly have in common with such a different age group? Leaves their intentions pretty obvious after that, and it's kind of depressing for that to be of prominent importance in their mind at their age. I'm in my early 20s, and I actually do like a 30+ year old, but there is no "hitting on", we talk about mutual interests, and it grew from there. I've had even older guys just come up flirting right away, it's just really depressing an annoying because they don't know me, they're just going off looks/mannerisms.
Older guys have never been my cup of tea, especially when I was your age. At 18 my idea of a nice older guy would be like 21 or 22.

I've witnessed you saying that before. This could go either way.... I could say age is just a number and encourage you to do what we're prone to do (cause, yeah, we are!!! hahahah)... but I could also remind you that there are 50 year-olds who are just as young as us (can't point mine out, though, hahahaha)
I'm 29 I'd totally date an 18 year old. Probably wouldn't actively pursue on a dating site... but if it happened spontaneously I'd be perfectly fine with it.
An 18 year old is still emotionally and mentally a child. You might as well date a 13 year old! Leave the young girls to the young boys. It is better for everyone in the long run.
I know what you're saying. I mean, legally I am an adult but I still have to call my parents when I go out with friends, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, still have glow in the dark stars on my ceiling... I would be really intimidated by anyone who had much more life experience than me, and also suspicious of their motivations.
Yeah its borderline creepy, like the personalities have to match really well for me to be cool with that.
I mean I'm friends to some people that are young teenagers, that I talk about music or whatever with. But for fuck sake I have CDs older than them. To be that be weird as shit how much can you really have in common
I'm only 25 and I think that anyone under 20 is sorting young for me. It would be really really cool shit me to be wanting to date them younger then 21

I look a damn site lot younger than I am, I can pass for half my age if I want to, generally I don't look a day over 22, which often results in me being chased by 20 somethings or even teens.
There's massive differences in personality, I do occasionally find like minds which are younger than myself, so I guess it is plausible that age may not matter.
So, I have to side with it being normal, but.. "It depends". If you found someone perfect for you that was legal but there was an age difference, go for it.

I mean, if someone finds someone else of legal age attractive, and thinks they might get on, why not try?
True, it's highly unlikely someone in their late teens will be into someone over 10 years older, but not impossible. Fact is, many consider people to be at their most physically attractive between 18 and 30.
I was hit on by a 34 year old woman the other day! I wasn't interested, but it wasn't creepy - I just had to politely decline.
I think it's the method and tone of the 'come on' that can make it creepy - if it seems like they're just after 'fresh meat' (someone young to fuck) and they behave in a predatory or extreme way, then that's creepy.
no way, i was 18 when i met my ex, he was 33, we ended up having a brilliant 8 year relationship, and we are still very good friends now
Dude creepy or not we cant really say anything once they turn age 18. However I think most would still consider 18-20 immature kids and by 30 that you would be a mature/older adult.
