Do you think craigslist can be used as a real dating site?

I have never placed an ad on the personals section of craigslist but I often read them for entertainment. Because they can be quite hilarious. Anyways, something I've noticed is that a lot of people complain about spambots, scammers and prostitutes posting fake ads or phishing their inbox. I always thought online dating was sorta sketchy but c'mon this site wasn't initially meant for dating at all. I can't honestly see any decent or desirable person using that site to get a date. I just think the posters should expect the worst instead of getting shocked by it.

    I don't trust kreglist. There is no requirement for information on this site. Needs babysitter, hollywood, Address. Babysitter must be over 18 and female. Who the hell is going to let some stranger babysit their kid knowing NOTHING but age and gender? Why is this sitter going to go to a random house with no background of parents.
