i hate auto tuner with a passion. anymore people that have absolutly no voice get famous by cheating. its not fair to the ones who actually are gifted with a voice.
Hate it with a passion. I'd rather have an artist with limited or imperfect vocals who still have talent and passion than one who auto-tunes all the life out of their songs.
But I'm probably a hypocrite, since I love Velvet Acid Christ, who uses distorted and manipulated vocals in almost every song, and lots of other industrial and electronic artists who use them. I feel that is different from using auto-tune to correct mistakes or make something sound "radio-friendly" though.
When auto-tune was first used it was good because it was being used in a creative way. When Lil Kim dropped the song "download" it was good because the point of the song made the auto-tune relevant. But T-Pain using it to make his entire album is just sorry. Most songs done with auto-tune should be in the same section as songs done by Alvin and the Chipmunks.
I think it's good as long as the person either uses it in a satirical manner, sparingly, or isn't a douche in general.

I would say it is not very good idea to utilize in the professional field. Auto tuner should only be used for fun, not for real.
Of course it allows anyone to make music, but after that, what would be the value of quality music? I suppose we would only see true talent in live performances instead.
Auto tune sucks now you can be a homeless guy with a weird deep horrible voice and then automatically sound like a robot. REAL singing is supposed to be a talent not something you do on a Fu*king computer
Autotune can't get you famous without talent. If you don't even try, you're still going to sound horrible.
I thought an auto tuner was that digital option on radio dials.
Voice synthesizers are weird. Useful, but weird.
after thoroughly checking auto tune out, it's completely unnecessary for singers to fall back on auto tune for a good performance. If you suck, take responsibility for sucking. Artists like Three Days Grace and Panic At the Disco are the worst when it comes to auto tune. Listen to any of their shit live, so horrible.
