Do you think abortion is a women's choice?

Personally i think abortion is there for the best reasons, Young girls being raped, teenage parents, accidental pregnancies, and women that cant take care of them for whatever reason. Or just because there not ready to have a baby its our personal choice. Its not even considered a baby, its an embrio or a fetus. Tell me what you think and where you stand on this?

Yes- its the womens choice to decided to have a child 36
No- its Killing an unborn baby 16
Yes- for any reason 10
No- for other reasons 2
Im not sure, if it was me my answer migh change then if it wasnt me 2
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

It should definitely be left up to the woman carrying the parasite.

If she wants to "kill" it, let it be.

As far as the father goes, he's not the one having to deal with the actual physical burden--which is why some laws state that the father does not even have to be informed of the process.

As for all you pro-life haters...stop trying to decide what occurs in other people's lives and having these double standards of, "well, if it saves a mother's life it should be fine".

Abortion is still abortion, after all.

I'm just going to recite a bit of street poetry. It seems to be the only answer here: "If you're pro life, be a doctor, foster a kid, actually make it possible for people to live, but don't you dare tell women what they can and can't do when it was a woman who gave life to you" - I think that's pretty indisputable.

It's unfair that the woman gets to kill a guy's child if she wants. But if he doesn't want it, she can force him to be a father. Women have it all ways in this society.

I don't agree with the child support laws either, but that doesn't change that it's still the mother who should get to decide whether to abort or not.

I'm not a big pro-life advocate, or anything like that. And I'm also sensitive to the fact that teen pregnancy can really fuck up a girl's world - that it may feel like life is coming to an end. And of course, my argument does not include rape victims: But the fact of the matter is, EVERY WOMAN HAD A CHOICE IN GETTING PREGNANT! Yes, it's "her body, her choice," and she made that decision to pull her skirt up and have sex knowing even with correct contraceptive use there was a chance in the cosmos that she could get pregnant. I understand that shit happens and sometimes it would be best not to bring a baby into a certain unstable environment - young, single woman, struggling as it is. But simply, SHE HAD A CHOICE, and now it's not just her body anymore, she and the father (if she was even careful about choosing a potential father to her child) are responsible for that life.

I would never press the issue, but if she asked for my opinion I would give it. If I'm not ready for it I don't see the point in bringing something into this world that has potential to suffer or be neglected, not that I would do that it's just a general thought. Of course, if she decided to keep it I feel that the decision is totally up to her since it's her body and not mine.

I didn't read the question or comments but a lot of people don't understand what a gamete or a fetus is, neither can be construded as killing in terms of abortion because neither can really be classed as living up until a certrain point, disregarding everything else if a fetus cannot survive on it's own without aid outside of the womb ( forgeting about diseases) then i believe that it should not be classed as a human being. I am a biomedical researcher so i know a bit in this area.

I think abortion should be left to the fetus to decide.

I love it when you do this. When you double-speak troll and anti-troll and nobody is quite sure which you meant. It's very clever. I don't normally mention it because it feels like I'm ruining a magic trick or something and I really don't want to ruin something like this. But, I'll do it as a one-off just so you know it's appreciated. Which, of course, you'll probably hate. But hey. Butt hay. :)

I think it should be the future mother *and* future father's desision. Both of them are important. Unless there is a significantly increased danger to health the mother, then there should be a cut-off point at around 20 weeks, maybe 22 for abortions. That should be ample time to get rid of it if they want too. After that point, it is reasonable to presume that the fetus is "it's own body" because it could survive outside the mother's body.

Yes, According to me, Abortion is a women's choice whether she abort or not. Sometimes, unwanted pregnancy happens after intercourse. And she is mentally not ready to take this responsibility. If Someone really wants abortion safely at home. Buy Abortion Pills online this is safe and affordable way. BuyAbortionPills.net is reliable online pharmacy.

I remember how horrible it was before roe versus wade if you found yourself in a family way.In the 60's ,My one friend was raped and ended up pregnant as a result and was so desperate she did the coathanger thing. she nearly died.

Even though women are given the choice in my country..legally. Often society tells them otherwise, friends/family pressure them. The reason i think women end up regretting is because they made the decision based on what everyone was telling them to do rather than what they actually wanted. Either that, or they made the decision without knowing enough about each of their options.

Women can't make their minds up about anything.

Why should this be any different?

If I'm honest, it really depends. Like if the women was sleeping around, then she should keep the baby. It was her desicion to get knocked up, she keeps it. Abortion should not be a soloution for them.
But if the women was raped or something terrible like that happened, it is totally understandable if she wanted an abortion.

It's the womens body and the father shouldn't even have a say in the matter, i'm usually sexist but this is one matter i believe guys should not have control over.

dom180 is right. If the father is still involved, it's just as much his choice as it is the women's. It has nothing to do with the woman's body, well it does, but that factor shouldn't be taken into account. Not for a lifetime decision.

That is so pathetic, "it has nothing to do with the womens body"? Were the one's that have to carry it for nine month's, then give birth to it! At the end of the day the fathet should have a say but it's ultimatley the women's decision. And if you think the womens body shouldnt be taken into account you're just dumb.

Good point. I agree. But the decision shouldn't be made solely on the fact that the woman is the one giving birth. Parenthood continues after birth, so I think the man and woman should have equal say.
