Soemtimes when I think about I worry it seems scary and only a matter of time. It could be on it's way right now and I wonder if the authorities would let us know or if they would not want to cause panic cause it's fatal anyway.

i really hope it will happen. this planet it full of shit that need to be cleaned.
I had the same fear. Every night i would wake up screaming that there was a comet about to hit the earth. but then i started using things to stop my mind playing trick like building a scale model of my town and finding the best place to hide if there should be a comet by experimenting the different forces and sizes of comets no i live a happy and normal life not worrying about it with my girlfriend and baby. :D
Scientists would be able to tell us ahead of time if a comet was coming to earth
It won't be like Out of no were everything explodes
its almost certain it will happen within the earth's future its just very unlikely to happen within the next century.
Living with the thoughts of always thinking a comet will hit it is like constantly fearing death. Pointless, because it will happen. We just dont know when or where.

You said it exactly:"it could be on its way right now"-and-"it's only a matter of time". Those may both be true but at the same time are all the more reason to not worry about it. I mean think about it:for example,its' approach could be hidden by the sun,so we really wouldn't know about it until ten seconds before it hit(given the one-in-a-million chance it ever had to start with),it will either happen now or ten-thousand years from now or it could either be a rock the size of two football stadiums (extremely out there since we would see it coming perhaps a year before and do something about it)down to the size of a house. I used to obcess over this. I wasted three months of my life worrying over it. Why? Because I watched too many movies about the end of the world. It's not the end. Enjoy life and don't waste time being scared of what can't be stopped.
Ive thought about this situation before and i came to the conclusion that its not a case of IF but WHEN will this happen.
time is infinite so and there is all sorts of stuff floating around in parts of the universe we dont even know exist so the probabilty that something pretty devastating will hit someday is very high imo.
whether it will be in our lifetime who knows? probably not.
i dont belive that we would be told the true extent of it untill it was knocking art the door.
watching all these disater movies where the hero saves the day gives a warped sense of reality.
look at other disaters that have happend in the past, did we cope with them very well? i dont think so.
imagine something on a larger scale? we would be wiped out no question and there is nothing we could do about it

Its entirely possible to happen, if its gonna happen we will know it years ago. What we can do is try to either destroy it or make it change path.
Eventually what we have to do as human is inhabit more planets.
