Abso fucking lutely; kill them all.
This is one very bad bunch of cowardly psychopaths. They kill everybody; Christians, Muslims, children and even their own. ISIS, Hamas and Boko Haram want to impose Islam by force on the world. Eradicate every single fucking one of them.
I don't support bombing of anything. but, that's why I didn't join the military.
I think it's partly the US and the UK's responsibility to secure Iraq after the (arguably illegal) 2003-11 war, especially since we withdrew prematurely.
So I do support the US providing conditional military (and humanitarian) support to the Iraqi people against the Islamic State (no longer called ISIS). I just hope they are incredibly careful with their targeted air strikes. I'd like to see the UK lend a hand militarily, too.
The Iraqi's wanted us out so it's a little hard to say we left prematurely. WTF was our goal anyway?
I don't think it's hard to say the Coalition left prematurely. I think we should have maintained a military presence until we could be confident the Iraqi military were capable of defending against this kind of attack. Remember, there are permanent US military bases all over the world, including in Japan and South Korea. Why not Iraq?
The minute the US withdrew all their troops and made a song and dance about it, militant groups came back with a vengeance to take advantage of the power vacuum. The Islamic State have proven just how unprepared and unwilling the Iraqi military are to combat this kind of threat. Clearly they need international support, and I think the burden of responsibility lies at least partly on the shoulders of the countries involved in the Iraq War.
Why not Iraq, the Iraqi government wanted us out. But we're supposed to tell them "we know what's best for you"? It doesn't matter when we left, a day after the first invasion or 20 years from now something like this was going to happen.
The responsibility is with Bush and his friends. Send them over to fix it, they seem to have a lot of free time these days.
