Firstly, I would like to say that I identify as a libertarian socialist, I believe in limited social regulation and heavy financial regulation. My personal views don't spill over into what I believe an ideal government is. However, I've lost so many relatives, friends, and love ones to lung cancer, and not all of them smoked cigarettes. Some were frequent marijuana users and died at 63, 45, and 52. It's your choice, but I stay away from all types of smoke. Thank's to everyone for being honest on this one.
Yes I do, if you haven't, i would suggest you try it so you can get your own perspective on it. Then you'll see why so many people smoke.
I smoked marijuana lightly as early as 13-14 yrs old. I then started attending a private school where drugs were quite common. At that time my usage went up to about an ounce a month of gold columbian that came through Florida. After high school I chose to go to a local college because I had suppliers there. I had lost all ambition to attend college at all but it was better than getting a job. I could count on my parents still supporting me. I became a small time dealer selling seven to ten pounds a month. I went to auto mechanics school because it was something I could do when I was baked. My personal consumption was about four ounces a week that was grown on a nearby ranch. The buds were beautiful from a strain of purple haired Thai that dripped enough resin to make hashish by rubbing and scraping the flowers. Then it stopped working. When I smoked my sinuses plugged up and I no longer got high, just really stupid. I started becoming a periodic smoker. I went a couple weeks at a time without it but when I went back I was just getting stupid. I became a depressive and lost my ability to finish anything. Now it's been many years since I have smoked any weed. They tell me it's stronger. I can't imagine going back to that. It totally robbed me of being a normal teenager. I lost all opportunity to become productive because I still can't finish anything. Smoke Up dudes.
Occasionally at parties. Prefer alcohol though. This is another question that seems to get asked a lot on here...
Marijuana has only been illegal for the past 50 or so years. History of Marijuana in the U.S.
Our founding fathers grew and consumed Marijuana, and in fact it was pushed onto every farmer to produce Marijuana for ropes, etc. Marijuana was the biggest export in the U.S. Washington grew Marijuana and smoked it too. Our original currency was constructed out of Marijuana and so was the American Flags.
It wasn't until Prohibition where the Government started pushing anti-Marijuana campaigns, and they were racially motivated as well. Campaigns such as " Marijuana makes a Black man look at a White Woman twice" or " Makes Whites listen to Jazz" spread across the nation. The Government used peoples hatred for Minorities to push anti-Marijuana laws.
Marijuana was cheaper and more easily accessible and since Minorities were the prime users the U.S Government enacted the Marijuana tax stamp act. It made it illegal for anyone to posses Marijuana unless they had the stamp. The problem was that in order to get the stamp you had to be in possession of Marijuana.
During the Nixon Administration Nixon waged " The war on drugs". He did away with the Marijuana tax stamp and flat out made marijuana Illegal. He hoped making Marijuana Illegal would do away with the Hippies.
Also The Chemical Corporations such as DuPont and Pharmaceutical companies lobbied Billions to keep Marijuana Illegal for it would hurt their profits. Marijuana is a cheaper and replenish able resource. You can make paper, clothing, etc at half the cost of paper and with 80% less chemicals. Also the pharmaceutical companies by law can't patent anything unless there is chemicals in it. Which is why they are against natural remedies and want to push pills on everyone for everything.
The government used scare tactics to push their anti Marijuana propaganda such as " Marijuana gives you STDs" Marijuana makes you want to kill people" etc.
The facts about Marijuana:
1) Marijuana prevents and can cure glaucoma.
2) Is a safer, cheaper, and better alternative to chemical induced medications to improve the appetite of cancer patients.
3) Recently has been proven to prevent certain types of cancers or who suffer from eating disorders.
4) Helps people who suffer from Migraines, arthritis, etc.
5) Marijuana is less harmful than Alcohol. You can get Alcohol poisoning but you can't smoke too much Marijuana. Also, never heard of anyone smoking a joint and beating his wife. Alcohol can bring out violent behavior while Marijuana does not. Oh, and you DON'T get hangovers from smoking too much pot.
I smoke Pot from time to time, but I am a strong believer that anything in moderation is not bad for you even Alcohol. Anything done in excess is harmful and can kill.
Yes, but i'm quitting for a year because it does not get me high like it used to.
I smoke everyday not necessarily because I love it so much. It has become habitual for me.
dont smoke and its legal in my country.. but as a kid (lived in a different country where it is illegal) my mum n dad smoke.. dad was a dealer aswell i didnt meet him till i were 10, n mum got quite crazy from the weed.. developed more personalities etc. - so I dont even want to try it
I don't really like the idea of using drugs for recreational use. I would prefer to use them for more of a spiritual practice because when you are high your conscious is elevated and I think you can become more susceptible to the other world with drugs. Using them just for fun is kind of stupid that's how you get addicted, suck down all your money meant for rent, etc. etc.
