Do you set multiple alarm clocks before getting up?

What I've done is I've set 3 alarm clocks. The first 2 alarms will wake me up and then I'd go back to sleep. When the third alarm rings, I'd get up immediately.

I'm doing this because I feel it makes the transition to waking up less torturous. Before when I would get up the first time my alarm rings, my eyelids felt extremely heavy, and I'd feel really irritable and had a bad habit of procrastinating while dragging things along.

Does anyone else set multiple alarm clocks before getting up?

I have set multiple alarms before getting up too. 360
I only set 1 alarm, and I get up immediately after it rings. 55

I only set two if I really couldn't be late. At some point I had to move it across the room because I would sabotage myself and turn it off in my sleep. But I can only wake to music. Loud noises are too off putting and I tend to throw the source of it across the room. Another reason to keep the alarm no where near where I am sleeping.

But I grew out of it. I'm awake at 6:30 with or without an alarm every morning.

What I usually do is set an alarm 30 minutes before I have to get up, then after it goes off I hit a 30 minute snooze.

  • LOOOL!!! I thought I was the ONLY person that did this. I set 3-5 alarms

    1. Alarm letting me know the next alarm is coming

    2. Alarm letting me know the next one is coming and the certain amount of time I got left until the OFFICIAL alarm and that if I wanted to do something in the middle of night...then now is the time to get up

    3. Alarm letting me know I got a certain amount of time left

    4. Alarm warning me that sadly I have to get up (I could get up at this time as well)

    5. Well i have to get up

Are you living alone? Or have partner beside you when you wake up by those alarms?

my default alarm goes off every 5 minutes (if i set it for 6 and hit snooze it'll go off again at 605, 610, etc) but that still isn't enough. i have to set multiple alarms and stagger them at odd intervals. so i end up having alarms at 6, 603, 604, 605, 608, etc. still dont get up till 630 usually

  • Well I set my phone alarm on my night stand and it rings. Then ten minutes after my phone alarm has rang my actual alarm clock (which is in my closet) rings. This way I have to get up out of bed and walk across the room to my closet to turn my alarm off. By the time it's shut off I'm already awake and out of bed, so I'm usually less tempted to say "five more minutes." However I do that sometimes and will hit the snooze button up to four times. (This is probably due to the fact that I have a terribly stressful school life right now, and on top of that I have to wake up ridiculosly early.) When you have something to look forward too such as the weekend you're usually more inclined to wake up. But if you have a crappy job or something well you know how it is.

im really bad at waking up, so i set alarms from 3am until 6am (the time i have to be up) at 5 minute intervals
i never remember hearing them, but it disturbs my sleep to make it light enough so that the last 5 alarms, i can wake up, be fully awake, turn it off, then go back to sleep?
its weird, but it works for me

I set 2-3 alarms. I used to have a huge problem with not being able to sleep so I'd always be worried I wouldn't wake up for school or work. So I would set them 30min apart and would still wake up late or I just wouldn't hear them. Needless to say... I missed a lot of school but NEVER work. Odd how that works..

I don't really use alarms (I barely sleep as it is). But whatever time it is I need to wake up, I bear it in mind the night before and I'll always wake up about ten minutes before I need to.

I always wake up a few minutes before my alarm goes off. unless I'm hung over which then I wake up hours before my alarm goes off. that really sucks.
