Do you say coversating or conversing? Have you ever heard someone say conversing or conversating?

I think 'conversating' is definitely not a word.
But it does remind me of 'commentating'. What is so wrong with simply 'commenting'?
And English is the finest language in the world, by the way. No other tongue needs a thesaurus.

I know someone on IIN who says conversating and The Rapture song Echoes (theme to Misfits) uses it twice. It makes some logical sense too. To get abbreviations you abbreviate, you don't abbreve. Both words took the same route into English (from French) but the adjective suffix to a root is irregular in English in a different way than it is irregular in French. The French use -ant for -ing (or double consonant plus e, like frappe) and their rules are different. For us, then, it's conversing.
Although if you use confabulation instead of conversation (they mean roughly the same), you can use the adjective form confabulating.

I do not believe people who say "Conversating" are doing it wrong on purpose. I think they actually believe that is the word you use. I hear these type of mistakes from people being interviewed on the news.
Grammar Nazi reporting. The plural requires no apostrophe. And it is capitalised. And capitalised is spelled thus with no Z since I am British.
You got me there. Sometimes when I'm typing fast (especially words ending in s), I hear the word in my head, and .3 seconds later it is on the screen, and there's no time to distinguish whether I meant it as plural, possessive, or contraction. I always make sure to proofread for it's/its mistakes though, just to appease you Grammar Nazis.
Conversing. Although, I usually just hear people say talking or something like that.
