Do you respect other people?

The definition I'm referring to here is respect as admiration or esteem.

I treat people with respect by listening to them, taking their feelings into account, and not lashing out if they piss me off.

That just seems to be the best attitude to approach people with if you want to get the best reaction from them, and have them treat you in kind.

However, I have little respect for anyone, and hold no one in high regard. I think that everyone is trash in their own way, and that includes me.

The few people that I've tried to look up too all disappoint me in various ways.

I will admire a few qualities about a person, but I don't think there's anyone who I truly respect for the whole person that they are.

What about you guys?

I prefer not to put people on pedestals, it's easier, because then don't have to muster the energy to knock them off those pedestals when they disappoint me.

Everyone has the same base respect from me. What someone does or says from the moment I've met them determines wether or not that respect rises or diminishes.

  • I bet you still think that you're hot shit, you piece of garbage. You're not fooling anyone, unless you think that we'll believe you have no self-respect?

Clearly, you respect yourself and your own opinions enough to bother treating yourself well and spreading your ideology.

Pretty much agree with your post.
    I'm polite, but.
Yea, people are jerks and let you down.
Don't expect it to be otherwise, and you won't be disappointed.
