Do you really need to say "hello" more than 10 times a day?
I work with this woman who demonstrates all kinds of strange and annoying behavior.
She is actually one of my supervisors. She has to pass my desk each time she uses the restroom and each time she passes, she feels the need to say, "Hello."
I explained to her when we first started working together that if she passes by my desk and I'm totally engrossed in something that very rarely will I break my concentration to speak at that time and that she should not take it personally.
She does however take it personally and is practically 'stalkerish' with her "Hellos" all day long. She will hover over my desk and say, "Just saying Hello." Who does that? Everyone else I work with respects that when they see I'm busy, they they may say Hello, but they keep walking and don't expect me to answer at that moment, but not her. Is her behavior normal?
