Do you really care when you hear a criminal or bad person is murdered?

Like when you hear about gang shootings, or prison murders, do you give a shit or do you say 'good riddance'? Even when I hear about a neighborhood kid getting caught in gang crossfire, I don't care. They're just going to grow up to be criminals and/or welfare recipients anyway, they have no purpose in life. .50 cents for a bullet, or how many thousands in food stamps, welfare and prison terms. Seems OK to me.

Be honest, just vote honestly. I know it sounds offensive, but it's my true feelings and I want to know if anyone else feels the same.

I don't care either. It doesn't excite me, but I don't care. 17
I like to see this happen. It pleases me. 8
Indifferent. 13
Wow, that's so cruel, I disagree completely. 16

It makes me a little bit sad when anyone dies, no matter who. Even a murderer. Even a paedophile. Even a dictator.

Right. Because, Hitler DID have some good ideas.

Doesn't mean I'd celebrate his death.

I'd just have to say, when you grow up you will probably change your views. When you can vote, when you pay taxes, when you have kids, when you've been the victim of a violent crime, you will think differently. You have no concern right now of where your tax money is going, because you probably don't pay taxes now. That may change....when you Do pay taxes, do you want to pay for convicted murderers to live comfy lives with better health insurance than you have? If you had a child that was raped, would you want to coddle her rapist and let him live on to harm anyone else, and live better than you do? Your views are so open-minded that your brains fell out a while back.

I've been to jail, it's not fun, but you know what? (some)People purposely get themselves put back in jail and prison to get health care. One recent example was a man who 'robbed' a bank for $1, for the sole purpose of getting arrested and getting his teeth fixed. Fact. Look it up.

You have no idea how many times I've heard that. It almost makes me chuckle with nostalgia.

I'm sure you are right. It makes me sad to say it, but is probably true. However, I don't believe that paying taxes or having a stake in what the government does with tax money makes a person better at knowing what to do with it. If anything, me, as an objective onlooker, ought to have a better idea of how it should be spent than someone who has a stake in what is done with the money, like yourself. Because I am objective and you are subjective.

You can't be too open-minded, in my view. There is no limits to rational pragmatism. No need for an emotional reaction. The mother of a raped or murdered child has my sympathies, but frankly it doesn't bother me if she is not allowed to take her revenge.

I'm very open-minded. I can live and let live, so long as no one is being harmed.

Maybe the number of times you've heard that should tell you something in itself. Not maybe, but should.

I remember when I was 17 and hade literallly no real 'stake' in the world...You definitley care less than when you DO have a stake. When you pay $ 3,000 a year in school taxes on your property, and don't even have kids in school, you change your ideals. When you pay several thousand dollars in taxes, you tend to care where it goes. When you may have to decide to either plow your road, house a marijuana offender, or house a child molester, you tend to prioritze and make more precise decisions.

Meh, yeah, 6 million Jews, one man responsible ultimately....Let's say he could've been eliminated before he had killed even 3 million Jews. Or we could even say, logically, he WAS killed before he killed ALL the Jews on Earth. But yeah, it's sad he was taken down before he could fulfuill his ultimate goal. Riiiiight.

Not saying that Jew killing should be applauded. I'd feel uncomfortable being happy that someone is dead. I don't know if that makes me naive, but I appriaciate human life even if you could make a good case that the human doesn't deserve it.

I agree. He just didn't have time to recognize his flaws. Or maybe he did and that's why he killed him himself. Death doesn't solve everything so we can't always be sure of someones death is a good thing.

Its normal to be pretty blasé about some awful person dying like Charles Manson. However, most of us only really get upset if we know the person or if its a terribly tragic story. Its only human nature.

    Doesn't really bother me.
I can't judge a person's character, they may just be a good person that got caught up in a bad crowd/situation...
Regardless, I'm not going to sit here and say that that it makes me feel sad when some criminal whom, from any rational persons perspective, will probably go on to rape, rob, kill or all of the above someone else. I don't condone mock or vigilante justice, but still...
