Do you put a space before an exclamation point or question mark?

More people today are putting spaces before the exclamation marks or question marks in their sentences.

I know what you're thinking: 'really ?'. You shouldn't be. It should be 'really?'.

This is proper in languages like French, but not in English. What is your opinion on this? Do you put a space before you final punctuation?

Yes ! 17
I do sometimes, by mistake. 14
No, it's not proper in English, and just looks terrible. 208

No. It looks like you're completely illiterate. Use punctuation right or stop speaking my language.

  • It's not an intentional space. It's a stutter.

I don't, but it doesn't really bother me when other people do.

It's the French that leave a space, I think it's like that in French so they forget

No space, and I haven't noticed anyone leaving a space.

hehe, I know. I spent so long looking for the upside down question mark character that I really wanted to use it and then I couldn't think of a way of saying it without making it a question.

        ¿I'm an idiot today?
