Encouragement. I'm not used to being pressured and I'm the kind of person who doesn't do what they don't want to do. If I feel pressured to do something, most likely I won't do it. I like to have a good outcome whenever I make decisions or plans, and that usually keeps me going.
I find it very hard to work under either. I see them as pretty much the same thing - when people try and encourage me, I immediately feel under pressure from them. I work best when I'm left alone to work at my own pace. When people try and persuade me to work by any means, be it by pressurizing me or encouraging me, it stresses me out to the point where I want to crawl into a hole, shove my fingers in ears and block it all out, pretend the work doesn't even exist. I can only work in my own time and any involvement in my work rate is always counter-intuitive.
pressure just confuses me.. it just increases the tension and stress while my mind just cant start acting upon it...
i think encouragement is the key think upon which i have been driven to work since childhood....
Pressure, sadly. Many is the time I've had an estimated 40 hours of work to do and have started working on it 40 hours before it was due, knowing the only way I could get it done is by going two nights without sleep and not stopping for anything apart from snacks and the bathroom.
Unsurprisingly, it doesn't always work out and I've resolved to do things differently.
I work better under my own pressure. Sometimes, when people tell me to do things, it has the opposite effect, which is a bad thing, I know. I hate pressure from other people, it makes me really dislike them. I love my own pressure, though! Ha, that sounds weird. Generally speaking, I do sort of work better under pressure.
I'm not quite sure what working under encouragement means. The only thing I can think of is when people race, and you have people cheering. If it's anything like that, then no, I don't think so. I appreciate the sentiment, but it can get annoying. Sometimes, it's very, very annoying actually. Depends on the situation, though. Sometimes encouragement is just what I need.
