Do you make use of the category flags on iin?
Do you ever select flags for stories from the selection below them?

The flags are what drive the "best of", "funny", "interesting", etc. lists on the right. Some of them, like "innapropriate" are a bit of a legacy thing. Back when the site was totally unmoderated, these flags were used to help filter some really bad stuff out. It didn't work too well though, so we were forced to manually moderate everything eventually. They're still there, but greatly de-emphasized. We might get rid of them altogether eventually. (You can see, they're not on the polls already)

Never heard of these flags do not know what they are or how to use them. If someone would like to teach an idiot about them and how to use them would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not quite sure why flagging is necessary. I am guessing that help is needed in categorizing posts. Is that correct?
