I think if you're with someone, why should you need a reminder to do something nice for them? And if you do, then just once a year? Really?
You don't need a reminder, if you're already with someone it's just another excuse to go out with them and buy them something not that you can't do that any other day.
it's also quite psychological, why do you think singles get a bit more depressed than normal in general? it's the same reason couples are a bit more elated.
but at the end of the day, love is in the air and everywhere, like laughter it's highly contageous haha :P
Christmas is still worse when it comes to marketing a holiday purely for profit.
I like the idea of showering your lover with affection but I'm not sure how cupid got mixed with a saint famous for a massacre.
I prefer to celebrate the anniversary of the day my partner and I realized we were a couple. That day will forever mean more to me than any other, including our wedding anniversary-that just made it legal.
all that toing and froing to the letter box and the bonfire at night, its tiring
It's only weird when someone is expecting something from you, depending on the relationship, i think it's just another hype holiday. I think the best time to give something to your loved one is at random times.
Hey! Happy late Valentine's Day! Am I the first one to greet you?
I'd just print out my cards and waste no money except for the ink and paper... Which I don't understand when I could just buy cheaper cards... RRRAAAHHHH! Money flies away! But, that's the way to get my friends to like their cards: I make my own!
Doesn't bother me. I just think people are stupid for falling for it though.
I never have anyone on valentines. Which is ironic considering how much I dated. So it really has no importance to me.
It's a stupid worthless holiday. Holiday may be too much of a title for that idiotic day. -_-
When I used to want to be in a relationship, I hated it, but now that I'm a proud single, it's just another day like Saint Patrick's day.
My birthday is the day before valentines day.. of course I love Valentines day.
I liked it when I was a kid because of the suspense and hope that I'd get a valentine from some guy that had a crush on me....but now that I'm older and married it's stupid. I don't play into the commercial crap.
I never really look forward to Valentines Day. I'm always alone while everyone is with their girlfriend/boyfriend.
Valentine day is a conspiracy by the chocolate factory so they can sell over priced candy & flowers
Though people like to say that it's just a hallmark holiday, I kinda like the historical story behind it. I never really celebrate it. It's just another day to me so I think it's ok.
i gets extras sexs sos is likes its verys much :D
jk
it doesent really mather(matter?) to me. but if my girl wants to do something extra special then im up for it. so yeah its ok
I used to hate it because I spent all of them single and alone and still do but when my heart started loving someone five years ago Valentine's Day has meaning for me at last. It no longer feels like a foreign world that only other people would experience.
I'm ALWAYS single in valentines day...
it doesn't matter how many boyfriends i have, I have never had a boyfriend on valentines day so i hate it
I'm always single during valentines day. and even when i do have a boyfriend. He doesn't mention giving me gifts. Damn am i the "UN- GIVE A GIFT- ABLE GIRL" I dont understand, its making me hate hate hate valentines!
valentines is the worst holiday ever. You should not need a day to tell someone you love them, it is so completely commercialized and I cannot believe any women would want a required day of expression, but of course they do. It is especially bad when you are fighting with someone, dammed if you do, dammed if you don't
My husband and I have been together for a decade and we never participate in Valentines Day. The first year we were together, I told him I thought it was a ridiculous holiday and I didn't want to do anything for it: lucky for me, he felt the same way. Outside of childhood romances, V-Day just seems like a massive scam designed to guilt people into spending a lot of money on stupid stuff.
I hate valentines day, everybody is happy and loving while I'm alone by myself.
I think it's just a day to remind people of their status and espectaions to them. Being in a relaionship means you're pressured into doing something special for your partner..Even though the most special times are those that are spotaneous. Being single, it simply reminds you that you're single.
