I like very early films, from the silent era. I'm captivated by them. I love the romanticism of silent movies, how they had to act so much with their eyes, their face and their body language. I think it's a thing of beauty and incredible art. It's a whole different experience to watching a movie really, it's more like watching a play upon the screen.

Guitars, Pokemon (I don't even play it anymore, but I've got all the knowledge ingrained in my mind), Terry Pratchett, international football, snooker, world geography and lots more. There are other things, like most sciences, that I don't know that much about compared to a lot of people but I love to talk about. Politics too.

I like talking about Doctor Who, but I don't like talking about what might happen next. Case in point: all this talk about who is going to replace Matt Smith. Can't we all just wait and watch the programme and find out then? Is it too much to watch a programme without already knowing what's going to happen? :P

      • dom180

That's a really weird one :P In the video games Koffing was always poison type, but in the trading-card game it wasn't because they didn't have a poison type in the TCG. Most of the poison type defaulted to purple - psychic, ghost and poison - but some of them were recategorised as green - grass and bug. I would guess Koffing was green because most of the purple cards had type-specific moves, but Koffing only had Tackle and Double Edge - plain old normal type moves. I would have categorized it as a purple or white card rather than green (partly because grass is venerable to poison, so categorising Koffing as it's "opposite" type doesn't make sense), but apparently Nintendo disagree :P

Koffing is poison type in the video game but green/grass type in the trading-card game. It's complicated :P I've never played the TCG, but I have a bit of knowledge about it.

            • I actually looked up the cards on the internet. They are selling the cards individually. They have different koffing versions. The koffing card is either psychic, grass, or normal. Yet is labelled as weak against psychic on the purple painted cards and counted as psychic on the purple cards. In the description it only says its a poison Pokemon. For Koffing the charges it needs are all normal. Unless you go for the leaf labeled version which you need a grass and normal for some of the moves. You are right that is weird. I use to collect the cards but me and my friends always played it wrong. We did not figure this out till later. I personally think the way we were playing it though was a lot more fun.

        • Oh no nothing is wrong with them. I just am saying that people kind of stopped reading since that happened. So people who read books is considered strange now. You can even get anime comics on it. I never liked the ebook system though. Like dvd ruined the video store. Does not mean dvds are bad it just put it out of business. A lot of people are getting audible books too. Which I think is ridiculous. If you are 20 and too lazy to actually read something that is pretty sad.

I'm a nerd for cartoons. Like Ed Edd n Eddy, Adventure Time, Megas XLR. Just like old school CartoonNetwork.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
      -
    • The old cartoon network was a lot better. It was more creative and it seems they put more effort into the cartoons and making new interesting ideas. The current cartoon network just seems to be making parody of old cartoons or just tossing a bunch of random nonsense together. Like Gumball for example. I really doubt that took much thought. I speak of the cat and goldfish one not the show revolving around food.

      • Anime7

I agree, Gumball is terrible just like all the other shows. It's sad that the creators of all the old cartoons left. Well, except for Genndy Tartovsky, he created Dexter's lab and Samurai Jack. Recently he made a great show called "Sym Bionic Titan" which they still give reruns Saturday night on Toonami, but the show got cancelled and it's sad cause it was very good. Honestly, the only good shows that get any credit on are Regular Show and Adventure Time. Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated was brilliant, but it always got put into a crappy timeslot. Teen Titans Go wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be, it's actually pretty funny, but I wish that they would bring back the old series, it just left so many questions. Also did you know that Generator Rex had a legit series finale? The problem was that it got put into a 6am timeslot, no joke and these were new episodes.

The old cartoons were amazing, and there are some that are currently on that aren't bad. It seems that like, for every 1 good show 3 other bad ones show up. I wish they would get more talented writers and artists to pump out new shows cause honestly it's just really sad what happened to Cartoon Network.

          -
        • No he did not make "Symbiotic titan" recently. That show is an old show that they brought back. That show came out in the 90s when toonami was first out. I am not sure if it was out along with or came after samurai Jack but it is not new.

It is like naruto one of the shows they brought up before and are once again bringing it back. Also I liked Scooby doo and the old scooby doo and at first found the love thing with velma and shaggy interesting. However it got stupid when velma and scooby both said "Dog or your girlfriend" which was stupid because who gets jealous of a dog jeese.

I also agree that Regular show and Adventure time are the only good shows left. Those are the only shows I could still tolerate. Sure Adventure time is badly drawn but its still watchable and has a lot more substance apposed to most of the trash they keep making which is pathetic.

Like the writers lost the creativity. What happened to things like Catdog? Come on that was a weird concept but you cant say you didn't love it. I also hate the Teen titans go. It also doesn't make sense since its basically a parody of the original show yet they neglect to bring back the original.

So yeah we who watched the original teen titans get the jokes but the new generation have no idea what they are watching. How can you watch a parody without actually knowing what it made fun of. Like watching a robot chicken parody of star wars without knowing what star wars is.

How is that funny! You dont get the reference. I do remember generator rex. It was an interesting show that I enjoyed very much. I cant remember watching the show end though but I liked the concept. It was similar to the ben10 concept. Did you see the Youngjustice series? They apparently cancelled that too.

However over the years I started losing my interest in cartoons and my attention for them has thinned. Well for most things really. Though I believe it might just be me getting old and bitter.

Toonami broadcasts excellent shows that are worth watching. I'm hooked to Soul Eater, IGPX, Full-Metal Alchemist, and InuYasha. I never took the initiative to watch them before, but it's great to watch shows that were the epitome of their time and are still highly-valued to this day. I don't know about you, but I could care less about sleep to catch Toonami's entire block.

Cartoon Network is pretty much dead, but some of the shows that Anime7 elaborated about are decent, to say the least. Teen Titans Go! is underrated. In terms of Adult Swim, Robot Chicken is the best program on there. Family Guy and King of the Hill were great for a while, but not so much anymore. The remainder of the block is lackluster and rather obscure. I don't recall anime shows broadcasted in this block; correct me if I'm wrong.

            • Well toonami use to start at 8:00 and end at 11:00 I think. I much preferred that. Now it starts at 12:00 and goes till 5:00 in the morning. Which is a horrible set up. Even if I wanted to watch it I would prefer taking a nap till 12 in stead of staying up till 5:00 in the morning to watch a line up. Its really annoying how they set it up. King of the hill is still shown on a few other channels. I like king of the hill. I too enjoy soul eater but most of the anime they show I already watched way before they decided to air it. In fact I have many of these seasons on DVD.

              Soul Eater is awesome.

There are some AdultSwim shows that I personally think are worth watching. Ever seen a tv show called "The Venture Bros." it's pretty awesome. There's also China Ill. which is oddly entertaining. As for if AdultSwim produces anime, there's not really any, all the anime is saved for Saturday night, or what now is Toonami.

Sym Bionic Titan is recent, look it up.

And honestly, Teen Titans Go is funny, but if you dislike it I won't blame you. Also Robot Chicken is awesome.

I'm not a big fan of Ben10, I like the animation cause it's the same as teen titans but the show got way too episodic for me. Normally I wouldn't mind that, but the characters sucked. Ben is a jerk, a terrible role models for kids. Gwen isn't bad, but they rarely have character development for her, same with Kevin. Kevin is great, they could have done more with him, but they don't develop him either. He's an ex-con who spent his adolescence in the null-void. You have to admit that sounds awesome, but they rarely talked about that. The first season of Alien Force was great cause it was so plot heavy, like literally every episode I was on the edge of my seat because the DNA Aliens were a threat, I mean they kidnapped Grandpa Max for god sakes. It wasn't bad, but then Ben reverted back to his jerky 10 yr old self.

I watched Young Justice, but I wasn't that big a fan. It took itself way too seriously. Robin and Kid Flash were really the only characters that gave the show any comic relief and they looked like the only characters who were having fun.

            • Airing once means no longer new. It is like saying a toy out of the package and saying brand new! Its no-longer new it is used. They are bringing back a lot of old shows they cancelled. Thundercats is a remake though. So Thundercats is new.

              Comment Hidden ( show )
            • It is not recent. They just brought it back. It came out before and it was cancelled. It is not new since I remember watching it when it came out the first time. They had it out when they first had toonami. If you actually pay attention toonami is just bringing back all the shows it has already aired.

Its all the old stuff they already played before. Like the race thing that was old toonami show, as was symbiotic titan but it came on during regular day hours not toonami hours. So it did not use to be part of toonami they just decided to bring it back. Naruto part one they brought back too. That show was on for awhile and had many seasons.

Naruto ran it course and I think lasted a good amount of time. So all the shows on toonami has been played. Its nothing new. Like one piece is a nice example. So no the "Symbiotic titan" is not new. I also watched it through already. They also did develop her somewhat when they started giving her powers.

We later find out Gwen is actually an alien. Symbiotic is not new. If it has already been played once it is not NEW. It is a old show since it has already been played on the network. However I have no idea how well the ratings did but it was on for awhile. So no none of them are new. They might be new to you but they are not Actually new.

I am not looking it up since I already watched the series. If you actually look it up it says rerun and bringing it back. Which means it had a run once before.
