Used to sample my dad's as a kid and wonder how anyone could drink something so foul. He told me I'd grow to like it when I grew up. Truest thing he ever said.
It's weird how as you age your taste buds develop, early teens i could only stand watery lagers like fosters and carling but now i think they are shit and prefer cider or real ale, although nothing will ever beat a stella on tap, i literally drink that shit till i pass out. Over in central europe staropramen is really nice aswell. Another think on the one day a year we have summer in england having a cold lager is the bomb.
Exactly, I used to down Bud Ice, busch and Bud light like nothing, now, I like ciders like Johnny Appleseed or Blue Moon Ale and Samuel Adams when I drink Beer. Bourbons like makers Mark or Gentleman Jack whiskey are my hard liquor of choice, of course, I don't drink that much, maybe 2 16 oz cans a week at the most. Getting drunk is maybe twice a year.
I started on Fosters too and moved through Kronenbourg and was a Stella fella for a fair while. Staropramen is lush, though. Lots of pubs do it in the city and if I ever see Staro, Leffe, Nastro Azzuri, or Erdinger, that's what I'm having! European lager and pilsener is fantastic.
Can't beat a good ale, either. There's a pub here that's won national awards and they brew all their own. Out of the better known stuff, Abbott's Ale is lovely on draught.
Yeah not a lot of choice in my small town cos most pubs serve the exact same beers, a guy thats friends with my mum started a micro brewery called barlick brewery so every couple of weeks he sends us a few bottles of anything new he's made and usually im pleasantly surprised at how damn good they taste.
Used to sample my dad's beer all the time when I was about 6 and up. It was OK then ,but as I grew older it just wasn't the same anymore,to me now it tastes more like vinegar. Sometimes I can drink the heavy European brands, but the domestics usually taste nasty to me. I will drink beer at a party or if offered to me , but I really prefer wine or liquor instead.
personally i feel beer always has a weird taste at first few swigs.. but after the first swigs, it seems to taste better and better... but 3 to 4 beers is all i don't mind drinking, maybe a 6 the most if the timing is right... anything more than a 6, i'm no longer please with the buzz... 3 to 4 is usually just right for me!
how can someone drink beer? lol my tummy gets hot when I take a few sips x)
Beer is seriously an overhyped manly thing to do. I understand that guys feel more macho when drinking it, but I seriously think it tastes nasty. I'm not going to pretend to be cool and say it's awesome.
i loooove it! especially with a lower alcohol level (taste wise).
it is perfect with a pork dish
then again i could be biased because im slovak, we drink beer with everything
I dont think anyone would actually like Love the taste of beer, Liquor is another thing but i dont think anyone drinks just cause it tastes good.
I'll drink almost any brand or style of beer except a few American Macro Brews. Those are the only ones that taste crappy to me.
I love craft beer, and I tolerate the average swill that is popular in the US.
Honestly, I'd much rather drink apple juice or cola or tea or smoothie or irn bru or dr pepper. If I want to get drunk I'll drink spirits with a mixer.
I drink beer when it's offered to me, or at a pub (Guinness is alright), but it doesn't taste great. Like stale fizzy water.
