It was the most realistic movie I have ever seen( the entire movies was computer animated). Excellent music, acting, wtf it was so epic I consider it illegal. However it was really long.
Not to mention it outsold Titanic!
I think a reviewer from the Guardian summed it up quite nicely. The reviewer said the special effects were ‘vomit inducing‘, and the movie was ‘alienating‘ and ‘weird‘ and ‘overall a horrible piece of shit‘.
It was OK but not much more than that.
It was Pocahontas with blue skin and special effects.
I'd much rather watch something that's completely original. Like the original TRON.
The advanced SFX were nice! But I could have done without 2 things:
1) the love story
2) the guy being paralized. That sucked.
Sadly i know you are talking about the Stephen Speilberg Avatar and not the live action adaptation of the cartoon (which i never really saw). But yes, i really did enjoy the real live adaptation of the last airbender and i cant wait to see the next one!
I enjoyed the Speilberg version though, too. Although, i dont think it deserves all the hype that it got.
I agree with Angel_in_a_Glass_Dress (74435) great visuals, stupid story that had no reason to be that long. Gay ass love story I wanted to know more of why exactly we need this rock?
I don't like it because it follows the old theme where; White man jumps ship and goes "Native". In that becoming Native , He shows the "Real" Natives that he's better and leads entire Native population to victory. Look at the old cowboy/Indian movies and you will see the theme through all decades of movie history.
the story could have been deeper. i didnt get why they had to put him in a wheelchair. the theme felt like "handicapped people revolution." my fav character was the colonel for being the driving force behind the movie.
