Do you it's possible for people to touch others in their dreams?

Like if you're away from someone and you want to be with them. Do you think it's feasible for you to outstretch to a loved one and touch them/make contact with them (even if the two of you are asleep)? Why or why not? Please share your thoughts below.

I've read about it and seen it on cartoons as I was passing by, but I've never experienced it. I think it is possible, though.

  • I've had quite a few shared dreams. I believe there is much more to dreams than science currently knows.

Yeah i think so! I've read an article somewhere saying that this is possible. And also a curiosity: some people say that when you're tired but you can't sleep at night it's because someone that loves and cares about you is dreaming about you, so you're awake in their dreams, and vice-versa.

What if you have a dream where you're banging your mother? Is that why I wake up and hear her moaning from the next room?

I don't believe it's possible. Dreaming is a random firing of synapses and our brains make sense of it by shaping those images into a story format. Just like when someone is conscious during brain surgery and the surgeon is poking around in there, the patient can smell or taste things that aren't actually there but it feels very real to them all the same. A dream can feel authentic like that too, as if it's truly happening.

That said, I had a lucid dream a few months ago where I met up with a friend who lives far away. It felt extraordinarily real and I was aware I was in a dream state while it was happening. Later on (not in the dream), I couldn't help but ask them if they had the same dream. Of course, they didn't; it was only something that happened within my head.
