We all do, the second voice within our internal monologue could be considered as such.
Yes. Always have, always will. I use other words for mine cos I think “imaginary friend” sounds daft, & if I’m honest – a bit childish. Sometimes they're a lot more than my “friends” anyway, if you know what I mean, nudge nudge wink wink.
They're mostly fantasy versions of musicians but there's one copyrighted character too. I am physically disabled, & they keep my spirits up & me from being bored. I am fully aware they're imaginary
One of them was/is a fictional cop who “helps” me with physical stuff, as in encouraging me in the right way – his way! -- as opposed to actually doing it for me (cos that obviously can't happen since he is neither actually alive nor real)
One listens when I have a problem & reassures me, talking in an old-fashioned sort of a way normal people wouldn't.
We communicate via thought. Talking out loud would be daft.
I don't think I will either – nor do I care.
I have imaginary friends. They consist of my favorite characters from my favorite shows and movies, since creating my own characters is something that's never come easily or naturally to me.
They serve as muses for my artwork, so that means lots and lots of fanart.
I daydream about them whenever I go exercising, especially with music on. Sometimes I talk to them out loud and even voice their responses back to myself!
I don't think I will ever stop having imaginary friends. They are my greatest source of comfort, my rock, my security blanket, whatever you want to call it.
Each my pillow becomes a different fictional character that I'd like to meet. I also used to have an inaginary boyfriend and wherever I went I imagined what it would be like if he were there with me.
