Do you get scared when babys...

This is for any parnts or people that have ever babysitted a kid younger than 2 years old,and they are crying for like the whole day and finally fall asleep ,but like 30 minutes later they start to move around alot as if they are going to wake up,do you ever chant something like 'stay asleep ,stay asleep ,stay asleep' or just get a little scared?
Just asking because I'm babysitting my moms friends ,3 month old right now.

I don't like babys 50
Doesn't scare me ,just nervous 22
I eventually got used to it 10
Scare's the hell out of me 13

What scares me is when they appear to stop breathing in their sleep.

Oh that scares the shit out of me! I keep thinking they are dead,so I always tap them once in a while.

Yeah I did that the first time. Was rewarded with (seemingly) endless screaming.

The trick is to hold your finger under their nose...you can feel their breath, even if you can't see it. That way you make sure they're not dead, but you also don't wake them.

  • You get more comfortable with it the more you take care of them because you'll get to know them so well you'll automatically anticipate their needs and what bothers them.

When I first started taking care of my nephews a couple of years ago, I watched them constantly. I was so afraid they'd do something that would kill themselves and I would be responsible (and hated by my brother). Now I just go with the flow. I know what they're capable of, when they want food, when they're going to take a crap, and when they need to rest.

Feel comfortable in knowing that their needs are pretty basic and that you know what's best for them. Good luck.

  • Yeah lool i used to be scared. I would just stare at them like wtf? Now if I put them to bed and can hear them moving around I'll freeze & mute the TV in whatever room I'm in. Or if I'm in front of them I'll scream silently and wail my arms at them not to wake up.

      • Yeah I love babies too a lot...I'm good with them as well but I just can't keep up with them sometimes. They're harder for me when I'm at school because when I get home they're asleep but when I try to go to bed, they're up. Then when summertime comes and I'm up all through the night, they're sleep and when I go to sleep during the day, they're up. -_-''
