I have friend who calls often to talk about her life, but it always chewing gum or eating on the phone. I sometimes make chomping sounds back for her to take a hint but she gets annoyed.
I thinks it’s incredibly rude to chew over the phone. Who wants to hear someone chomping while giving them advice?

The same thing goes in a playstation party, it's considered polite to mute your mic while you eat. Nobody does and it's gross.

Yes tell this this stupid, self-centered bitch outright that the eating sounds she makes on the phone disgust you instead of hoping she'll take the hint. People like her are clueless, because they are completely self obsessed.
Next time hang up on her, then text her in a few hours to tell her your battery died, but you're busy now, and can't talk.
Most people are polite enough not to do this, so maybe your friend doesn't realise how disgusting it sounds. Since she gets annoyed when you do it to her, maybe you could record a conversation with her doing it?
