Do you ever rescue insects in danger?

Whenever I see a creature (of any kind) in danger and I know I could help, I do. I throw some spiders outside before someone else decide to kill em, I help flies, wasps and bees find their way out through windows, I carry snails out of pathways and put them in the bushes where they won't be stepped on.

Today there was a fruitfly that had stupidly dived right into my icecream so i picked it up and gave it a lil bath so that the icecream wouldn't render it unable to move once it gets sticky, then I dropped it off ontop of an old orange.

Then I thought to myself that I should make this into a poll, so then I did! xD

So the question is, how many of you care enough for the smaller lives that surround us every day and that so many prefer to just kill without a second thought of empathy for the little thing?

I'm always on the lookout for a helpless bug to save! 1
Whenever I see one in trouble I try to help. 18
Sometimes. 11
As long as my irrational fear of tiny lil bugs doesn't prevent me from touching it, sure! 8
No, I don't value their lives as worthy of my time. 8
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I once saved a spider from drowning when I saw it in a bucket of water. I used an empty flower pot to scoop it out and then gently set free on the garden.

I did the exact same thing to a grasshopper who got soaked in ketchup. I even have a picture of Fred.

Put it in a glass of water and swirled it around a bit xD then i fished it back up and let it run around on a piece of dry paper which absorbed the water xD

    • I knew an old lady once who saved thousands of roaches lives by giving them a home and plenty to eat.

She had a lot of cats, too.

I do it too. I cant stand for someone to swat at a spider, somehow, though, the lives of the hundreds of bugs that died on my windshield this week mean nothing to me.

Yes, actually! I am always trying to save an insect from a spider web. The last was a lightning bug. Thanks for trying to help the creatures. 💚 Never stop being that person.

Does helping include putting them out of their misery? They got unlucky when they spun the wheel to choose what they were. I got unlucky too, I wanted to be the finest wheat that would be used to make breadsticks, but sadly I'm not... yet.

So somebody ought to put you out of your misery too then, that what you're implying?

If you're here to mock people who value living beings you won't succeed.

All life wants to live tho, so your "putting them out of their misery" is the poorest excuse ever for killing harmless little creatures.

"harmless" I guess your house hasn't been gotten to the point where you need an exterminator yet

my poor poor childish tragic years
I saw a single ant carry away my precious breadstick
No but really it's annoying when you accidentally mistake an ant for seasoning on an everything bagel and you take a huge bite into it and then bam

Spiders are the natural exterminators, let some stay indoors and most (if not all) other bugs won't bother you.

But I understand your pain from loosing the enjoyment of the bagel to an ant-invasion
          :(
