Do you dress different?

At my school almost everyone dresses the same and it's so boring, so I was wondering if you would stand out in a large group of people? Other things like make up count too.

I dress for the occasion, but conservative and what pleases me, not what society wants me to.

I am kind of poor, so I do not really have the luxury to dress how I would prefer. I just wear what I have.

I pretty much wear a band tee and jeans with sneakers year round. Rarely do I wear a button-down shirt, polo, or anything else. It could be 110 degrees out and I'd still wear my jeans! Oh, and only Levi's jeans.

No, I'm very boring. I don't like to be noticed too much. Not for the way I dress, anyway. It's just clothes. It's not me. It's not even like I made them myself so why would I expect any attention for the fabric I'm covering myself with?

We all had uniforms when I was at school, it's the usual in Britain. Apart from the occasional mufty day (non-uniform day) we never had that problem of 'what to wear?'.

We do have odd trends relating to how you wear your uniform though; whether you tuck your shirt in, how short your tie is and sometimes how you tie it, how high your trousers are, if your blazer is buttoned up or not etc. Usually however teachers want you to wear something, you're supposed to rebel against it to fit in :P

I'm not at school now. Normally I wear clothes that I like, and what I like is inevitably influenced by everyone around me (if that weren't true I'd be naked all the time). That said, a lot of new trends coming out of the hipster sphere worn by my age-group (18-25) look fucking dumb to me. All the tight plaid shirts, the massive sunglasses, the little straw hats or trilbies, rolling up t-shirt sleeves, baggy vests, the very very tight jeans, the high-maintenance hair, the feigned metrosexuality... Basically it suggests to me people who consume everything they're fed by media with very little originality, and place too much value in 'fitting in' or looking like people that are 'in' (usually members of bands). Superficiality way above practicality and functionality. I might be more accepting if I thought they looked good haha but to me they either look boring or silly.

None of them apply to me - I just get dressed and happen to stick out. Right now I have purple tartan skinny jeans on, which is a little risky living in what feels like the fucking ghetto
