Do you do your income tax return yourself or do you pay someone else to do your taxes?

If you pay someone....why?

    I wish they taught tax preperation in high school. That would have been very useful.

    I have paid for it a few times when I was younger due to a very complicated situation that required several different tax forms and laws that were relevant only because 9/11 happened.

    But I've been doing them myself for several years now and they are pretty simple.

    And I will never let my husband forget how he forgot to file as a married couple after one year of marriage.

    I do my own taxes but I wouldn't recommend it. I wouldn't be surprised if it sends me to jail one day as my taxes are pretty complicated.

    Yes I do my own, long form, crazy deductions, etc, but I yell a lot at nobody in particular while I'm doing them and then get even more pissed at the end when I see the bottom line. Thank god I live in a tax-free state. If I had to do another form and pay more money, I'd probably flip the fuck out!

    My dad just payed some women to do his for $50.00 i guess thats not that bad out of $2000.00 or is it.

      Considering it probably took the preparer less than 30 minutes to do and if it was a standard non-itemized return, yes, you wasted $50. Do you make $100 or more an hour? If not, next time do your taxes yourself.

        yes he makes more then $100.00 an hour so did he fuck up or what + the women got his last name wrong on the paperwork so hes not got them back yet.

    I don't usually get money back on taxes therefore it would be a waste of more money to pay someone to do it. I just need the 1040EZ anyway and those are simple.
