    'Friends' is a bit strong.

More like... 'People I don't hate'.

After all that cutting and bruising one would imagine he's not that soft anymore...

To some degree, yes. There are many levels of friendship. And the internet has created a new one.

Do you mean level of aquaontances rather then level of friends as one builds a relationship with a friend so unless you are building a number of realtionships at the one time you sure are not trusting the other in what you are sharing because you are saying the same thing to the others: True friend(s) are special and I believe one cannot have 10's 20's etc I have various levels of Aquaintances though because I have shared so much of myself with each one with revealing my intimate stuff with> drinking buddies most of them, like work mates, my sporting mates of my clubs I am attached to etc: My local bar local community: Only aquaintances with the friend at the centre all the time:

An acquaintance is a level of friendship.

What does it take to make a friend, a friend? Opportunity and similarity. If you find you have something in common with another, and you keep bumping into them because you travel the same path in life, you will likely become friends. The internet can create true friends in this manner however it is up to the individual to share truthful experiences. This is no difference than real face to face encounters, the only difference is that people tend to wear fancier masks on line and they are harder to remove.

  • Yes. I have been here 3 years and while I have never met anyone here that I know of, other than a couple real life friends who I have refered but they never became regular users, I have told as much stuff about myself here as people in my real life know. I think by now we have gotten to know each other well.
At the same time I realize that I may know nothing about anybody here and you may all be the same person arguing with yourself. That isn't much different to me than real life 3D friends or even dream friends because you can never be sure of anybody and for all I know my thoughts are all that exist so I choose not to be concerned of who or what is real.

yes, I too would wish I had a friend or two on IIN but alas it is easier said than done actually I am not sure how to go about having one or two as it is in the public domain we would be sharing in replying to what ever question that helps me express my opinion on

never talked to anyone that much but there are some people on here that've been nice to me, which i appreciate and i try to avoid offending them

not really, the communication through comments and replies are trusting enough as I believe each gives Hers His natural insticts answers but after thatI would need for such comment to be expanded on to begin build a real trust which is of slow growth if one has to build a friendship between us: Aquaintances of various levels for now I would say people are to me from 10% to 60% depending how I trust their sharing on what ever topic or comment on Questions I have offered to is it Normal

The douchebaggery is presumably the result of being on IIN for over 7 years :P

I consider everybody my friends... unless... if they do something...
Then there's my best friend in real life and my sister. They're IINers, too.
