Well pretty much like the title says do you check back on your comments to see how many thumbs up/down you got? I recently started doing this...

here i sit inside my house
bored and oh so dreary
i turn on mac and grab the mouse
for IIN to get me cheery
i've only come here for some fun
but i check a gem it's minus one!
i think i know who did the deed
his votes are huge so there was no need
minus one is not so nifty
i'd much prefer a minus fifty!
I said no.
However I also don't consider it to be sad. It's just that once I leave a comment, I usually just forget about it.
Perhaps I'll be checking back on this one.......
I tend not to look. I sometimes look back at old posts because some people some people use the iPhone app and I don't think you can "reply" yet, so their comment to me is a post I wouldn't have otherwise seen.
Although, when I do notice the votes on my comments, I can't begin to understand them. A simple, throwaway comment which seems like common sense gets +15. Something I've thought really hard about gets -7. And if someone replies and says they agree with it, they get +10.
I don't think the thumb values really represent reality, and so I don't care much what they end up as for me. Even if I did care, what use would it be to me? It's just a number on a website.
Not really on purpose. I usually just notice it if it's a poll or story that I'm interested in, one that I'd revisit. If I put a lot of effort in trying to help someone, I usually purposely check.
It pisses me off a lot when people thumbs down an obvious joke. Some jokes I've seen on here are just in very poor taste or totally immature but many jokes that are harmless and funny get voted down as if people think it's serious or something. Oh, and when a totally lame joke gets voted up....grrrr.
No, not really. If I return to an old post, I notice it, but it doesn't affect how I feel or how I continue to post.
Only if I'm passing by a question I've been to before, I sometimes have a look to "gauge the room". The most I've had is a +13, and I've had a +8 as well. I've also had a -2, which I was fun.
