The government is always hiding stuff from the public. 9/11 for example... there is no way that a plane or missile (whatever they want us to believe) hit the pentagon. Also, for the two buildings, they went down so perfectly that there's no way it was all just because of the planes that hit them. But the media is controlled but the government so it's very hard to tell what is really going on.
Hell yeah they're trying to cover up what they do not want us to see. Ever wonder whats going on at Area 51? New military shit my ass! They're hiding something way bigger there! Like maybe dead alien bodies or an entire UFO.

I agree. I bet this government knows about some of the most atrocious, horrible stuff. I think everything is a conspiracy, that they are the ones who make those freakin' flying so-called U.F.O.'s, and probably kidnap people and experiment on them. You never know.
This is going to sound cynical but they hide things for the long-term benefit of all of us (as well as the short-term benefit of themselves).

We have no choice but to live in a nation that has committed atrocities commissioned directly from the highest levels of power, and it is no mystery that our leaders are at times corrupt. Where there is power, there is no doubt corruption. That said, in a supposedly free society, how can it be that this so-called "protection" from the truth is in any way our benefactor? You see, we are not protected from "horrible truths", as if to save our conscience from grave matters. No! We are outright lied to. There is no "protection", only cover-ups and conspiracy. Why hide the horrible truth from the rest of society? I can tell you why. Fear—fear that if the evildoers in power are to be found out, they will be thrown from power and the corrupt system they have put in place will be torn from the firmament; fear that if the truth be known, a revolutionary new society will collapse the evil empire.

The government is always hiding things from us, mainly military things, for security purposes. Ever hear of "Black Projects"? Billions of military dollars are spent on new technologies. The Sr-71 Blackbird and f-117 Nighthawk started as black projects.
As far as other things, and info, no doubt. They keep it secret so foreign countries dont hear about it.

I suppose they do hide stuff, like governments always have. I know one thing, the reporting of 9/11 was not normal. I watched it from beginning to end. Usually when a disaster happens, the camera footage is scattered everywhere, taking in as many different scenes as possible. CNN's footage was trained exclusively on both towers from a distance; it was as if they knew both towers would collapse and they were waiting for it to happen. I've never seen footage like it on any news coverage.

I believe this question is pointless and wont solve anything the way it is phrased. All it did is get conspiracy theories. The real question here is if you trust government. Side note: if the government did hide things from us how would you know? It's like if someone is a good liar you would never know. Also it is governmental policy to declassify things once they no longer pose a threat to national security. Which makes sense considering a government is by definition an absolution of freedom for security. So hiding? Not from Americans, from threats to security. They are not hiding information from the masses to keep them sheltered and oblivious to bombs in the WTC, that is fucking stupid. They are hiding information such as operation paperclip from the enemies until they no longer pose a threat. Imagine how Russia would of reacted if after the fall of Nazi Germany we told them we were taking a thousand or so of Germany's top scientists and dispersing them throughout the Allies except for them. The Cold War would of ended in WW3. And BTW, the whole Roswell cover up was actually an extension of the Nazi project "Die Glocke" which was a project to create an aircraft that can take off with zero runway space since Britain was bombing German airfields to keep the superior Nazi dog fighters on the ground. The name "Die Glocke" is German for "The Bell" since its design was a bell shape. Operation paperclip took the top scientists from the project and put them in Area 51 which was a known aerospace testing facility. When Die Glocke crashed due to an imbalance in the alternate magnetic propulsion system the government released a statement saying it "looked like an alien aircraft." An hour later they released a statement saying it was a weather balloon. This caused people to think it was an alien ship instead of word getting out about operation paperclip and the Russians retaliating violently. Since the end of the Cold War all this information has been declassified and released to the public. So get over your conspiracy theories and do your research. The government is not hiding aliens and isn't bombing American soil.
