The Big Bang Theory exists, so yeah I believe in the existence of the theory of the Big Bang.
However, as to whether I believe the Big Bang Theory is true or not... It's something we can only speculate about, and will probably never know, so it is something none of us can be certain of. There are a multitude of possibilities.
Ultimately, I'm more concerned about the future than the past.
This brings an interesting subject:
What was there before the big bang?
What will be after?
Will matter inclode again to a small dot?
Will time rearange?
It all started somewhere
Where do you end up if you travel through space?
Will you get back to the origin?
Are there paralel universes?
Sorry for my grammar
Do I believe it? Largely, yes. Does it have holes, discrepancies, and does it raise further questions? Largely, yes.
As a theory to explain the last 13.7 billion years of time around this place, it's okay. But before that? And outside of that? The evidence only tells us about the set period of time, and the expanse of space.
It seems like a good idea, but probably none of us know enough of the details of the theories to make a good judgement call.
As a scientist, I believe that the big bang theory is not even plausible.
Well, there isn't just one big bang theory, is there? As far as I know, different theories like the standard model or supersymmetry have different ways of explaining the big bang.
Anyway, science is the only thing that can really tell us where we came from I think. So yes, I do believe in the big bang.
Surprised that 33 people when I wrote this dont believe in it, I would like to hear what their theory is. I bet most of them that claim not to believe are for religious reasons. It so hard for people to use logic when making a choice instead of desire and emotion. I bet most of you dont know that gravity is a theory.
i think scientifically. so i would never believe in god (thats just a result of insecure thinking from ancient civiliztions). and i would never be able to fully believe this theory, unless it could be proven. easily the closest thing that i'll believe for now. im actually fine without knowing the real beginning bc id rather know the truth that just make silly guesses....cough....cough....god
You kind of have to educate yourselves on physics in order to understand the fundamentals of this theory. Read 'The Fabric of the Cosmos' or 'A Brief History of Time' if you take a huge interest in cosmology like me. Don't make an opinion due to lack of education and ignorance and certainly not religion.
I believe in God and the big bang theory. God had to create the universe somehow you know.
What force caused the big bang?
What force is powerful enough to spread all of the matter of the universe across trillions of light years of space?
That's a lot of heavy stuff to move, and a long distance to move it.
And all without UPS or FED EX!!
I'm sure we have some things right about the big bang, but I wouldn't state that it's 100% irrefutable - my instinct is that we're missing a lot of necessary information.
I believe it, it seems plausible, for the most part, the expansion theory seems correct; all matter originated from a single point and expanded outwards in an explosion, but what I've always wanted to know is WHERE DID THAT MASS ORGINATE FROM?
Oh yes, I believe it! I could spend hours just contemplating it, it's such an amazing idea!
the big bang problably happened, but there had to have been something before. Something tells me we are not the first.
yes. i also believe in evolution seeing as i have seen more proof of that than everything just being placed on earth as it is now and some guy getting to name it all. i like the story of the zebu or whatever it was being made of all the animal bits left over though! ^_^
it's definitely theoretical at this point, so i'd classify myself as somewhat convinced. then again, gravity is just a theory, too, and the massive skateboarding bruise i have on my butt believes that one for sure
