Do you believe in reincarnation and karma?

when i mean reincarnation, i mean dying and then being born again in a different lifetime. now when i mean karma, i dont mean that what i do today, lets say hit somebody will effect me tomorrow and cause me to lets say get this shit beat out of. i mean that say i kill someone in this life time, then i will be born into a bad environment in my next lifetime, or that if i save someones life, then i will be reborn into a better environment in my next lifetime.

What i do now will effect me in my next lifetime 30
we are reincarnated but karma has nothing to do with it 13
this is the only life we have 36
we life, we die, and the wheels go round and round 19

I believe that when we die, we reincarnate as humans again. I don't think our souls change species.

Also, I believe in karma, but not that it affects you in a different lifetime. Kinda like, if you do something bad in this lifetime, and don't make up for it, you'll be punished in this same lifetime. And in your new life, you can start with a clean record.

I believe in both, but not in a selfish human way which is only concerned with personal things like a soul and what it can get for itself.

My corporeal self will continue to exist after death, just as parts of other things. The things I have done in life will continue to resonate as the world will always be slightly different for me having existed. And any good I do will hopefully change things even an iota for someone else and kindness echoes for eternity.

Although Shakespeare posits an alternative version of the same thing. He wrote: "The evil that men do lives after them, the good is oft interred with their bones".

  • Life's a b**** then you die , so make the best of your one life do what you want to do when you want.

  • Personally, I think life is understood in many forms, which is why we have so many varieties of religion. Karma in some cultures could be like sick irony to others, or maybe God putting us in our place. It depends on your belief system, but we all believe in similar rules. For me, Karma's just a word describing that what goes around comes around. I don't care that I'm Christian, because it's true. Whatever you do, life throws it right back at you. So technically, yeah, I do think Karma is real.

Reincarnation, too. Again, my personal belief system allows me to think that God takes on many forms for others to understand. I don't believe in reincarnation of the same soul per say, but I do believe in guardian angels and past lives. They may just be one in the same.

I think our soul is taken away from us when we die, and given to another. What we did in this life has nothing to do with another life. Our souls are recycled to another, to put it, but I don't think of it has 'reincarnation'. Then our spirits just go to whatever afterlife there is. That is what I believe. But I do believe in karma.

I think that when I die I wil reincarnate into another living thing. No matter what. Maybe a plant or a dog or something. Or human again. But I don't believe that there's completly nothing when you die.

Throughout my adolescence I was really fascinated with Edgar Cayce and read all about him and other books about past lives and with hypnotizing people and discovering and curing psychological problems thru hypnosis.

Then I was invited to a Christian church camp that was very passionate about God. On the long bus ride I sat by the wife of the pastor and while Christians do not believe in reincarnation I brought up the cases about how people reveal under hypnosis past lives and in turn are cured of their issues, & her answer was that it was like a dream. She had had a dream about owning a restaurant which was a total fantasy..

I was not satisfied with this explanation. I knew it didn't explain how people were cured and how it was consistent with their life long psychological affliction. My experience at the camp was extremely positive. Despite this inconsistancy, everybody was genuinely good natured, happy, loving, & accepting while being so passionate and determined to bring people to god. My assessment (in short but not exclusively from this experience) is that its not a "sin" to believe something that's not true.

As far as karma goes though, what they didn't teach me as a kid in Sunday school (my dad was Mormon. & used to take me when I was little sporadically) was that u don't do what's right just bcuz u owe it to God, but, by being a good person u have true happiness. It has been that way for me anyway. Just like how "God" is all knowing and good at the same time, like a mathematical proof. Being good is the smartest thing to be bcuz its the only way to true happiness.

An action is supposed to play karmically on 7 levels apparently. Some effect will happen during the day, more within the week, some within the year, some during the liftime, some in the next liftime, some in the lifetimes in this eon and the rest after that...or so I remember reading in a Buddhist book. It also said that all actions don't play on each level, and might display only on some levels.

The Buddha is supposed to have had three constant pains throughout his life. Backpain (for physically abusing his mother in a past life), a headache (for being sadistic and enjoying the death of a fish that was dying slowly due to the lack of oxygen in a past life) and some other constant pain that I forget...maybe a stomach ache for something equally crappy.

This gives me hope if karma is in fact a reality. If someone who reached enlightenment had all this karmically playing on him even during that purified lifetime, then we aren't so bad off are we?

I dont believe in any of those things, but probably because im a christian.
God values human life, like his son Jesus, he wouldnt let our "souls" just wander around until it gets a new body. What does "Rest in Peace" even mean if you arent put to rest?
i highly doubt that anybody is the reincarnation of Jesus or else theyd have the best life possible since durning his life hes been spit upon and done many great deeds. ex "Good Karma" ; if you believe in it.

  • There is no "you" when you die. Don`t you understand? When we die...it`s finished.

I believe we reincarnate until we reincarnate as a human being learning the path to enlightenment then once we awaken and we die, we go into nirvana. And our so called "souls" will be different yet the same. Like a flame lighting a candle wick. The flame on the match and the flame on the wick are two different flames and two of the same flame at the same time. =)

I am a passive Athiest, so I don't believe something unless I see it. But I do believe in Karma, because I have "seen" it do things, and I have had good Karma and bad Karma throughout my life.
I also believe that when we die, we go somewhere else, not Heaven, but somewhere. I don't know where because I have obviously never been there, but I believe we don't just die and everything goes black. I wouldn't think we'd remember our past lives, I just believe we go somewhere else when we die. We might not even have past lives, and just go to some heaven-like place. I just don't believe in heaven.

i have no idea my mum beleives in reincarnation and stuff im not sure, but its kinda like if u get deja vu i think about it like has this happened in anothert life. but i kinda find that if i think naw ill just do it in my next life haha id never do anything good. when i think no this is the only life i have then it makes me do more of the things i really wanto do rather than sit around doing normal things.

I've always been a believer in reincarnation and karma too. Here is an awesome unsolved mysteries episode that in my opinion anyway, is proof that it does exist.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gn85MTzy3Pg

This is the only life we have, after this we'll be reincarnated and have to face God (Day of Judgment) and then we'll either be sent to Heaven or Hell depending on our behavior in this life.
