I absolutely think people who believe in a god are beyond moronic, how stupid does somebody have to be to believe in the bible.
I used to, but over the years I became disgusted by how people who believe in him act. I believe in deities, sprits, and acceptance.
Interesting to see your views upon it. Personally I don't believe in God however am open to changing my mind. I don't believe in being ignorant to others' culture or beliefs.
I believe in the Abrahamic God because of many experiences in my life. It wasn't because of the bible. He has proven himself to me many times in my life. For that I love him very much so. I see the supernatural/paranormal aspects of the belief. Too many things involved to be pure coincidence no matter how many scientific experiments are used. Not all occurrences can be explained.
I believe in other deities as well but I do not worship them. They care not for human life. God has given me many great gifts including my to-be-wife.
I believe in love. And the Christian doctrine that God is love. I have felt it, I can not create on the own if I could I would everyday. I have had dreams that saved my life, I have been lead to places that helped others. I don't hang on every word of the bible, and I don't think everything is 100% correct, I also believe that most other religions of grains of truth and helpful doctrine, but so far, Christ's teachings of love have been the closest to what I think makes sense in this almost hopeless world.
Well...kind of. I'm Catholic and I'm noo where near religious. I asked my Mom why we don't go to church and she said and I quote "Its boring" Lol. My Mom thinks there is something there, like there is an afterlife. She believe we come from apes not Adam and Eve. But yeah... I'd have to say yes but no... not directly God, just the afterlife :)
I belive in god , but in him only,no church or saints, I don't stare at a picture like a dumb...
My beliefs towards this have greatly changed in two years. My answer is yes and no.
I believe in no deities. My concept in god doesn't follow the Abrahmiac (Did I spell that right?) system. To me, God is life or energy. I have thought of him or her as being the universe or even a Brane (String Theory). But life/energy exists in all living things.
Didn't vote, couldn't as you did not have "don't know" for an option. I am an agnostic I guess. Sometimes I think there might be a God, but IF so, he (or she) seems very far away.
What are you talking about?
"GOD" is "a god" too.. who said the Christian god is the right god?
Just because there are many people who believe in the Christian god you think its the right "GOD"?
There are many different religions around the world, and personally I believe in none of them, they are all the creation of human imagination.
The only reason Islam and Christianity became worldwide is because of Muslim/Christian conquests and European colonization.
I think we should let it go, actually we should have a long time ago.
2000 years ago i could understand, because people didn't know better, but in 2012?
we've come so far and there's still so many religious people, it makes me feel disappointed in us humans.
But then i think how far science and technology has brought us and how far it will bring us in the future and i think positive :)
What reasons do you have for letting God go?
You say science and technology has brought us far, but have you even thought to research the positives of loving God have brought people far?
Your last statement is bias with no real statistics.
if your god was so useful, he would STILL DO THINGS. not just happy normal life events that people can achieve anyway
Who said anything about letting god go?
I never believed in that nonsense.
And have you ever even thought about how christianity held science back? (Especially in the middle ages).
And any good that came from religion could have been done without it.
And my last statement is obvious, we are moving forward and it's those two things and human intelligence that will get us far, not one of many fairytales.
I believe in Higher Power of my own understanding. Defining God according to a particular religion leaves me in chains of question.
if god was real, the world wouldnt be bad as it is with crimes, poor people, dooms day,etc
not sure
BUT
When my nana was dying me and my freind saw a man in the house with wings and the night before she died she said to my mum a angel has come to take me away and that very night she died.
thats all i got but if there is somone(s) i say hi lol so im keeping my mind open
I do kinda, but since i was raised in a religion to believe i do, but i dont really like its teachings
There are many intelligent God loving people who contributed to society to help it grow to where it is now. STUPID
Um so ur calling my boyfriend stupid when he's in Harvard Univeristy right now?
A person can believe in a deity and still be intelligent enough to positively contribute to society.
