"Believe in" isn't quite the right phrase. You believe in articles of faith; you espouse scientific theories, and that's what evolution is. I definitely do espouse it, though, so I clicked "yes" on the survey even though "I believe in evolution" isn't really accurate.
At this point, anyone who doesn't think that some form of evolution and natural selection have taken place is ignoring the facts as surely as someone who insists the earth is flat. People are welcome to their beliefs, but if they believe in creationism or creation "science," well...I am welcome to think they're under-educated or gullible.
Thinking the earth is flat seems more reasonable to me than not recognizing in evolution. To personally see that the earth is spherical requires going to a great altitude and testing that it is spherical while not very difficult requires effort. Whereas the evidence for evolution can be personally witnessed easily and is intuitively true.
Don't get me wrong the earth is spherical but recognizing the vast evidence for evolution actually requires a far greater ignorance than even flat earth beliefs. If it wasn't for religion it would almost never be denied.
Darwinian evolution is a very likely scenario for how humans(and other creatures) came into existance.
I believe in it inasmuch as it is the best theory we currently have to explain Biological processes, our heritage and human psychology. I'm not going to cling to it if it is replaced by a better theory but for now, it's what we've got. The proof is in virtually every other life science.
I've looked at the evidence for the theory and found a significant lack of evidence against. I accept evolution as true because of what I can confirm with my own senses so it's not much of a belief.
PSA: Scientific theories and the usual use of the word theory are not the same thing. The scientific version is used to describe physical phenomena and generate predictions based upon those descriptions. It's not a guess and certainly not unsupported.
Yes I do. I believe we evoloved form the sea, the way we just take to water. Also a baby lives in water in its mums womb prior to birth. xx
I believe in natural selection/microevolution- as in giraffes became taller over time because the tall ones were able to reach more leaves on a tree and were more likely to survive then a shorter one. "Survival of the fittest" in other words. However, I do not believe in macroevolution- like I don't believe humans came from apes or out of the ocean.
That just doesn't make sense from a scientific perspective. How can a particular species change into a completely different one?
There is no micro or macro evolution. Retards went from thinking there was no evolution, and when they realized they couldn't deny it anymore, they started splitting it into two different types. Has it ever occurred to you that many many small changes could cause a much more significant change in a species?
There is no such thing as "fact" it just makes it easier on our tiny little brains to believe there is.
Hard to believe humans evolved from single celled organisms no matter how many years.
